The Provincial Council of Ciudad Real has definitively approved the distribution of 500,999 euros in nominative grants to 35 town councils in the province, destined for swimming pools, parks, paving, and municipal equipment. The agreement, adopted by the Plenary in an ordinary session held on July 27, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 165, dated August 28, 2026.

The modification of the Forty-First Base of those regulating the current budget allows these grants to be included in the budget application 29900.94200.762, titled “Nominative Grants. Municipal Assistance Areas.” The file was open to the public for the regulatory period without any claims being filed, therefore proceeding to its definitive approval.

Purpose of the Grants

The grants finance works and equipment of various natures, with a special emphasis on leisure infrastructure and municipal services:

  • Swimming pools and sports complexes: lawn of the municipal pool in Almedina, chlorination and purification system in Terrinches, improvement of the sports complex in San Carlos del Valle, and sports equipment in Alcolea de Calatrava.

  • Paving and urban roads: paving of streets in Herencia, pavement of San José Street in Solana del Pino, and perimeter ring road of the urban center in Cabezarados.
  • Equipment and energy efficiency: renovation of lighting in Villar del Pozo and Luciana, climate control of municipal buildings in San Carlos del Valle and of the public school in Santa Cruz de los Cáñamos.

Deadlines and resources

Pursuant to article 171.1 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed against the final approval of this file before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Ciudad Real within two months following the publication of the announcement in the bulletin.

The announcement, number 2757, is electronically signed by the Head of Section of the B.O.P., Juan Luis Cuadros Campo, and by the President of the Provincial Council, Miguel Ángel Valverde Menchero, in Ciudad Real on August 26, 2026.

The distribution consolidates the Provincial Council’s line of support for the smaller municipalities of the province, which lack their own resources to undertake maintenance and improvement works for their infrastructure. With this injection of nearly half a million euros, city councils will be able to renovate pools, parks, roads, and equipment that directly impact the quality of life of the residents.
