The Provincial Council distributes 50,000 euros in grants to rural fairs in Cuenca

The Provincial Council of Cuenca proposes to grant 49,999.77 euros to 29 town councils and EATIMs (Municipal Entities without Legal Personality) in the province for the organization of rural fairs during the 2026 fiscal year. The provisional resolution proposal, adopted by the evaluation committee on August 17, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cuenca, number 96, dated August 21, 2026, and opens a period of ten business days for interested parties to submit allegations.

The announcement, processed by the Tourism, Fairs, and Heritage Service, includes the weighting of the applications and the distribution of individual grants. The evaluation committee unanimously adopted the agreements to approve the score of each requesting entity and the amount of the grants, forwarding them to the instructing body to formulate the reasoned resolution proposal in accordance with Article 24 of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17.

Distribution of grants

The total budget amount is 50,000.00 euros, of which 49,999.77 euros are distributed, leaving only 0.23 euros unexecuted. Individual grants do not exceed the maximum limit of 3,000.00 euros set by Article 5 of the call, and the sum of all subsidies does not exceed the available credit.

The reference amount for proportional distribution is 2,400.00 euros, assigned to the entity with the highest score, Barchín del Hoyo, which receives 2,493.98 euros after the increase from remnants. It is followed by Priego (€2,446.26), Tejadillos (€2,164.29), Altarejos (€2,046.08), and Cardenete (€1,975.59).

• Tinajas and Tragacete requested a grant lower than that resulting from the initial distribution, generating a remnant of 1,205.69 euros which is distributed in equal parts among the remaining entities.
• The increase from the remnant amounts to 93.98 euros per entity, applied to all applications except those of Tinajas and Tragacete.
• The smallest grant corresponds to Iniesta, with 1,041.83 euros.

Beneficiary entities

All submitted applications meet the eligibility requirements and are eligible for approval, with none being rejected. The beneficiary entities are:

• Barchín del Hoyo, Priego, Tinajas, Tejadillos, Altarejos, Tragacete, Cardenete, and Cañete.
• Talayuelas, EATIM Valeria, Beteta, El Herrumblar, Villarubio, Graja de Iniesta, and Ledaña.
• Villamayor de Santiago, Mota del Cuervo, Chumillas, Belmonte, Horcajo de Santiago, and Huete.
• El Provencio, Villaelpardo, Minglanilla, Valdeolivas, Santa Cruz de Moya, Sisante, Quintanar del Rey, and Iniesta.

Period for allegations

The proposed resolution is provisional and is published on the Notice Board of the Electronic Office of the Provincial Council of Cuenca so that any interested party may submit allegations within a period of ten business days, counting from the day following the publication. Once the period has ended, the instructing body will issue the final proposed resolution.

Pursuant to Article 82.3 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, if before the expiration of the period the interested parties express their decision not to make allegations nor provide new documents or justifications, this formality shall be considered completed.

The call benefits dozens of municipalities in the province, mostly small rural centers, and strengthens the local fair and tourism fabric as a driver of economic and social revitalization of the Cuenca territory.
