The Provincial Council distributes 241,500 euros in tourism grants to 76 town halls

The Provincial Council of Jaén, through its Promotion and Tourism Area, has published the provisional resolution proposal for the 2026 grant call, aimed at city councils for tourism promotion events and those of special interest related to cultural and/or natural heritage. The announcement, issued on September 8, 2026, appears in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén number 177, dated September 11, 2026, and distributes a total of 241,500 euros among 76 city councils in the province.

The call was approved by Resolution of the President number 138, dated March 30, 2026, and its summary was published in BOP number 68, dated April 9, 2026. Following the application submission period, interested parties were required to correct documentation (BOP number 127, dated July 3, 2026), and the Collegiate Body, meeting on September 3, 2026, submitted the evaluation report for the 77 admitted applications.

Beneficiaries and amounts

The proposal grants subsidies to 76 city councils, with amounts ranging between 1,275 euros and 8,000 euros, totaling an assigned amount of 224,979.97 euros. Among the highest-rated projects are:

• Martos, with the Olive Festival (XLVI edition), €8,000.
• Linares, with the XIII Ibero-Roman Festivals of Cástulo 2026, €6,500.
• Úbeda, with the VII Summer Music Festival “Family Tourism 2026”, €6,500.
• Alcaudete, Bailén, Beas de Segura, Castillo de Locubín, Escañuela, Pozo Alcón, and Jaén, with €5,000 each.

Rejected applications

Two applications are excluded from the proposal. On one hand, Mengíbar (file 2040), with the Mengíbar Book Fair 2026, is rejected for not reaching the minimum score of 35 points provided for in article 15 of the call (it obtained 10). On the other hand, Benatae (file 2629), with the Cultural Program for the promotion of Ben-Hatae Historical and Natural Heritage, is excluded for having submitted the application after the deadline.

Deadlines and payment method

Beneficiary city councils will have a period of ten business days from the date of publication to present objections or reformulate their application if the proposed amount is lower than the one requested. The grant will be made effective in a single advance payment, prior to justification, which will be carried out through a simplified justification account. If no objections or reformulations are presented, the provisional proposal will become final.

The proposal, signed by the Deputy for Economy, Finance, and Municipal Assistance, Pilar Parra Ruiz, does not create any right in favor of the beneficiaries until the granting resolution is notified. This line of aid reinforces the cultural and tourism agenda of the municipalities of Jaén, promoting events that attract visitors and highlight the province’s heritage.
