The Provincial Council distributes 200,000 euros for hydrants in 50 municipalities

The Provincial Council of Segovia has allocated a total of 200,000 euros to 50 town councils in the province for the acquisition and installation of forest fire hydrants, at a rate of 4,000 euros per entity. The decision is recorded in Decree No. 2026/6051, of August 20, 2026, an extract of which is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Segovia number 103, of August 28, 2026, page 4.

The call, processed by the Local Economic Planning and Cooperation Service, is registered in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 925854. The extract is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the full text can be consulted in the national database itself.

Object and Purpose of the Program

The grant line aims to finance the acquisition and installation of public-use fire hydrants connected to the municipal water supply network, including the signage and accessories necessary for their operation. The purpose of the program goes beyond the mere provision of urban equipment and is configured as a strategic action to consolidate a provincial network of water support infrastructures against forest fires.

Each beneficiary entity must install two hydrants, each with its corresponding informative signage element, consisting of:

• Support: a post or structure 1 meter in height located next to the hydrant.
• Sign: an aluminum plate fixed to the support that clearly and visibly indicates the existence of the water intake point for fire protection services in case of emergency.

The 50 Beneficiary Municipalities

The grant, 100% funded, reaches municipalities spread across the province, including Ayllón, Cuéllar, El Espinar, Pedraza, Prádena, Real Sitio de San Ildefonso, Sepúlveda, Santo Tomé del Puerto, Navafría, Fuentidueña, Sacramenia, Carbonero el Mayor, and Otero de Herreros, among others. Deadlines and appeals

Against the agreement, which concludes the administrative process, interested parties may optionally file a request for reconsideration (recurso de reposición) before the same body within a maximum period of one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of First Instance of Segovia within a period of two months, in accordance with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure. The calculation of the deadlines begins the day following the publication of the summary in the provincial bulletin.

The full resolution has been published in the National Grants Database and, to ensure transparency, it has been uploaded to the Provincial Council’s website along with the annexes in editable format and the justification templates. The announcement, signed by the Deputy Secretary Laura Álvarez García in Segovia on August 21, 2026, is made public for the purposes of public information.

With this investment, the province of Segovia reinforces its network of water intake points in the municipalities most exposed to the risk of forest fires, a security infrastructure that benefits both extinction services and the protection of rural centers and their natural surroundings.
