La Diputación eleva un 143% su plan de subvenciones de 2026

The Provincial Council of Badajoz has published the first update of its Strategic Grant Plan for the 2026 fiscal year, which increases the global allocation from 54,846,709.03 to 133,567,844.56 euros, an increase of 143.53%. The document is disseminated in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz No. 206, dated October 27, 2026, through Announcement 4250/2026 of the Functional Area of Sustainable Economy, Strategic Procurement, and Heritage.

The original plan was approved by the Governing Board of the Provincial Council in an extraordinary session on January 30, 2026, and published on February 18, 2026 (announcement 389/2026). Its ninth clause provides for a review based on modifications occurring at the close of the first semester, such that the final evaluation of the content will arrive with the evaluation of the plan itself. This figure is based on Article 8 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Grants, and Article 14.1 of Royal Decree 887/2006, of July 21, which requires these instruments to be updated annually.

The announcement organizes the grant activity into seven strategic objectives and 16 lines of action, detailed in Annex I. The text figures the total of the plan at 133,567,844.56 euros, while the close of the annex shows 133,567,884.56 euros, a difference of 40 euros between the two calculations.

The bulk goes to city councils

Local entities are the primary beneficiaries of the reinforcement. Strategic objective 1 —services, provincial competencies, and municipal infrastructures— concentrates nearly half of the plan, with 72,991,800 euros.

  • Avanzamos Plan (formerly Diputación Contigo Plan): 50,000,000 euros, with 38 million additional.
  • Demographic Challenge Plan: 8,072,800 euros.
  • Municipal Infrastructure Plan: 5,000,000 euros, 2.5 million more.
  • Emergency or Necessity Plan: 3,505,000 euros, three million more.
  • Investment Plan for smaller local entities: 1,125,000 euros, newly created.
  • Provincial Network of smart mobility and environment cameras: 1,500,000 euros, as a grant in kind.
  • Accessibility Plan: 700,000 euros; Heritage Identity Plan: 1,000,000; Municipal murals plan: 500,000.
  • Personal protective equipment for entities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants: 315,000 euros; volunteer firefighters of the CPEI: 220,000 euros.

Climate emergency and self-consumption

Strategic objective 2, dedicated to rural environments and the fight against the climate emergency, reaches 29,162,634.91 euros. Line 5 alone totals 28,412,634.91 euros.

  • Provincial Self-Consumption Plan in municipal buildings: 20,629,126.11 euros, reinforced with more than 19 million additional.
  • Movem II Plan for sustainable mobility: 7,352,000 euros, corresponding to its second call.
  • Biodiversity line: 750,000 euros, with 300,000 for game restocking of social hunting grounds and 210,000 for peri-urban parks.

Employment, culture, sport and social services

Employment (objective 3) receives 10,810,095.23 euros, of which 7,134,787.93 correspond to the Municipal Employment Plan. Culture and sport (objective 6) total 8,471,800 euros, divided into 5,708,300 for the cultural line, 1,966,500 for sporting activities and 797,000 for infrastructures of social, cultural or sporting significance.

Social exclusion (objective 4) receives 9,092,049.42 euros, with 7,864,061.84 in the aid line for disadvantaged groups and an increase of more than 1,750,000 euros in the Provincial Social Services Plan. Tourism (objective 5) has 1,845,000 euros and equality (objective 7) has 1,194,505 euros.

New lines for associations and companies

For non-municipal beneficiaries, the update incorporates three main novelties:

  • 1,750,000 euros more for equipment and renovations of associations and non-profit entities.
  • More than 110,000 euros for global citizenship education projects.
  • 400,000 euros for cinematographic and audiovisual projects by companies and freelancers in the sector.
  • 500,000 euros for the new Provincial Plan for the enhancement of local and regional products.

The impact of the revision is twofold: it expands the margin for city councils and groups to finance investments and activities before the end of the fiscal year, and turns the plan into the reference map to know which provincial aids are open, with what amount and under what granting regime. Since it is an update and not a new plan, the changes apply to the lines already published in February.
