The Provincial Council appoints the jury for the IEG Agricultural Research Award

The president of the Provincial Council of Jaén, Juan Latorre Ruiz, has issued Resolution number 322, dated September 21, 2026, by which the jury members for the Agricultural and Environmental Research Award of the Institute of Giennense Studies (IEG) are appointed. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén number 186, dated September 24, 2026, in the Local Administration section, under official reference 2026/4438.

The framework of the call

The composition of the jury is approved in compliance with the sixth basis of the call, which requires a Presidential resolution regarding the final composition of the evaluating body and its publication in the BOP of Jaén. The rules of the award were approved by Resolution number 66, dated February 18, 2026, and were published in BOP number 46, dated March 9, 2026.

The resolution is issued by virtue of the powers conferred by article 34.1 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of Local Regime, and article 61 of Royal Decree 2568/1986, of November 28, which approves the Regulation of Organization, Operation, and Legal Regime of Local Entities.

Composition of the jury

The body is composed of internal representatives of the IEG and two external evaluators:

• President: Francisca Medina Teba, delegated deputy of the IEG.
• Members: Salvador Contreras Gila, manager of the IEG; José Mª Capitán Vallvey, managing counselor of the IEG; José Domingo Sánchez Martínez, full counselor of the IEG, and Joaquín Muñoz Cobo Rosales, full counselor of the IEG.
• Substitute: María Luisa Grande Gascón, deputy director of the IEG.
• External evaluators: Sebastián Quirós Pulgar, director of the Area of Agriculture, Livestock, Environment, and Climate Change, and Ana Belén Jurado Peña, head of the Agriculture, Livestock, and Rural Development Service.
• Secretary: Cristina Mª Erena Ibáñez, head of the Administration Section of the IEG.

Remuneration and operation

Jury members external to the institution will receive 300.00 euros each as an attendance fee, plus travel expenses and other needs that may arise, subject to the legally applicable tax withholdings. The expenditure will be financed from Budgetary Application 2026.160.3340.22605 of the budget of the Institute of Giennense Studies of the Provincial Council.

The operation of the jury shall be governed by the provisions of the Preliminary Title, Chapter II of Law 40/2015, of October 1, on the Legal Regime of the Public Sector. The announcement is made public for general knowledge and bears the signature of the president in Jaén, on September 22, 2026.

The designation closes the award’s organizational procedure and allows the IEG to enter the evaluation phase of the submitted works. For the province’s agricultural and environmental sector, the composition of the jury confirms the presence of technicians from the areas of Agriculture and Rural Development alongside the institute’s counselors, which reinforces the technical nature of the verdict.
