The Provincial Council of Ávila allocates 300,000 euros to repair rural schools

The Provincial Council of Ávila has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ávila number 169, dated September 2, 2026, the call for grants intended for municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants to incentivize repair, conservation, and improvement works for early childhood and primary education schools in rural areas. The call, identified by number 1739/26 and registration BDNS 925982, was approved by a resolution of the President of the Council on June 25, 2026.

The allocation amounts to 300,000 euros, charged to budget item 3230/76201 of the 2026 ordinary budget, financed through the agreement formalized between the Regional Government of Castilla y León and the Provincial Council of Ávila. The execution period for the eligible actions extends from January 1, 2026, to August 27, 2027.

Beneficiaries and Purpose

Municipalities and smaller local entities of the province of Ávila with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants that own the properties where early childhood and primary education centers are located may apply for these grants, provided that the property is designated for that purpose at the time of the application and they meet the established requirements.

The purpose of the guidelines is to finance repair, conservation, and improvement works for school centers, including municipal competence actions provided for in Article 25 of the Local Government Base Law (Law 7/85, of April 2). All types of equipment are expressly excluded.

The deadline for submitting applications is fifteen calendar days, counted from the day following the publication of the guidelines in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ávila. The necessary documents are available on the electronic office of the Provincial Council of Ávila.
