La Diputación de Ávila convoca 15 ayudas para investigar temas abulenses

The Provincial Council of Ávila has announced research grants on topics related to Ávila for 2026, with a total budget of 55,000 euros divided into fifteen subsidies. The call, approved by resolution of the President dated July 30, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ávila number 175, dated September 10, 2026, with file number 1795/26 and reference BDNS 927746.

The announcement, processed by the area of Culture, Heritage, Youth, and Sports, is published as an extract of the call in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17. The full text can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database and on the electronic headquarters of the Provincial Council.

Two grant modalities

The call is structured into two distinct lines, both under a competitive bidding process:

  • General Modality: ten grants of 4,000 euros each, for researchers of any nationality, individually or in a team, who hold at least a Bachelor’s or Licentiate degree.
  • Young Researchers Modality: five grants of 3,000 euros each, for applicants under 35 years of age on the date of application submission; in the case of teams, all members must meet this condition.

The total amount may not exceed the credit allocated in the Ordinary Budget of the Provincial Council for the 2026 fiscal year, under item 3340/48101, which amounts to 55,000 euros.

Purpose and requirements

Projects must deal with a topic related to Ávila in its broadest sense, be original, proprietary, and unpublished in their entirety or majority, and may correspond to ongoing research for a doctoral thesis, although this does not imply any preference over other works. The granting of the aids does not imply an employment relationship, administrative link, or provision of services to the Provincial Council.

To obtain beneficiary status, it is necessary to be up to date with tax and Social Security obligations and not be subject to the prohibitions of article 13 of Law 38/2003. Those who have received other subsidies for the same project or have a pending resolution in other instances, as well as those who have been beneficiaries of these grants in the last three years, may not apply; nor may the same applicant obtain two grants from the call.

Deadline and submission

The deadline for submitting applications will be fifteen calendar days, counting from the day following the publication of the guidelines in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ávila. The call documents are available on the electronic headquarters of the Provincial Council of Ávila.

The call for applications is part of the promotion of research on the province driven by the Provincial Council through the Gran Duque de Alba Institution, in accordance with article 36.1.d of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of the Local Regime. The announcement was signed in Ávila on September 1, 2026, by the President, Carlos García González.

The call represents a direct stimulus for researchers and universities working on the heritage, history, and social reality of the province, and reinforces the role of the Provincial Council as a driver of local knowledge, with a specific line designed to incorporate younger researchers.
