The Provincial Council of Toledo approves 19.7 million in credits for urban planning, fires, and tourism

The Provincial Council of Toledo has definitively approved two budgetary modifications to the General Budget for 2026 totaling 19.68 million euros, destined for urban planning, public debt, firefighting, culture, and tourism. The agreements, adopted by the Corporate Plenary in the session of July 21, 2026, are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Toledo number 159, dated August 21, 2026.

Files 35/2026 and 42/2026 were initially approved and displayed to the public via an announcement inserted in gazette number 141, dated July 28, 2026, without any claims being filed, and are therefore considered definitively approved. The processing is supported by articles 169 and 177 of the Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries.

Extraordinary credit of 14.67 million for urban planning and debt

File 35/2026 provides for an extraordinary credit in the amount of 14,674,595.07 euros, distributed between urban planning and public debt:

• 1510 Urban Planning and Architecture: €12,771,338.38 for buildings and constructions (UDACE) and €1,900,000 for equipment and other sanitary and therapeutic elements (UDACE).
• 0111 Public Debt: €3,256.69 for investment loan interest (UDACE).

The financing of these credits is covered by a long-term loan with credit entities for the acquisition of real estate for €14,671,338.38 and by treasury surplus for general expenses for €3,256.69.

Supplement of 5 million for fires, culture, and tourism

File 42/2026 combines credit supplements of €4,685,702.07 and extraordinary credits of €320,000, for a total of €5,005,702.07, fully financed by treasury surplus. The main destinations are:

• 1350 Civil Protection and Facilities: €2,425,000 as a contribution to the Provincial Fire Extinguishing Consortium.
• 1720 Promotion and Protection of the Environment: €475,702.07 for technical material and buildings.
• 3340 Cultural, Educational Promotion and Archaeology: €265,000 for exhibitions, publications, and aid to city councils and institutions.
• 3360 San Clemente and Santa María de Melque Cultural Center: €80,000 for books, courses, and works.
• 4320 Tourism Promotion: €1,250,000 for tourism and economic promotion and cooperation agreements.
• 9200 General Services: €500,000 for work carried out by other companies and professionals.

Deadlines and appeals

An administrative appeal may be filed directly against the final approval of both files, in the manner and within the time limits established in articles 25 to 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating said jurisdiction. The agreements appear signed in Toledo on August 20, 2026, by the president, Mª Concepción Cedillo Tardío, and the acting general secretary, Francisco Ferrero Casillas.

The approval of these modifications provides the provincial institution with resources to promote the urbanization and equipping of its services, reinforce fire prevention, and sustain the cultural and tourist activity of the province, in a fiscal year in which financing is supported by both long-term debt and the available treasury surplus.
