The Provincial Council of León opens sports grants for 620,000 euros

The Provincial Council of León has opened the call for grants for absolute category sports entities for the 2025/2026 or 2026 season, with a total budget of 620,000 euros. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León number 164, dated August 28, 2026, as an extract of the plenary agreement of July 29, 2026.

The call, identified with the code BDNS 926602, is processed under a competitive bidding regime and affects all clubs in the province with teams in official national absolute category competitions.

Purpose and Beneficiaries

The guidelines regulate the aid directed at sports entities in the province of León registered in the Registry of Sports Entities of the Junta de Castilla y León (REDE), with teams that have participated in official absolute category competitions at a national level and appear in the official rankings of the corresponding sports federation, including Tercera Federación football competitions.

The objective is to support and encourage high-level sports, incentivize the practice of different sports, and promote sports associations and healthy habits.

Amount and Distribution

The total amount of the call amounts to 620,000 euros, distributed as follows:

• 500,000 euros for team sports.
• 120,000 euros for individual sports.
• 5% of the allocated amount is destined for teams competing in the highest category of each sport.
• The remaining 95% is distributed among all teams, including those in the highest category.

Deadline and Processing

The deadline for submitting applications, along with the required documentation, is twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the extract in the gazette. The eligible period comprises between August 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, or from January 1 to November 30, 2026, for sports whose official season takes place within a calendar year.

Applications shall be submitted through the electronic office of the Council (https://sede.dipuleon.es), selecting the procedures catalog and the general instance, in accordance with the eighth base of the regulatory bases. The application form and annexes are provided on the website www.dipuleon.es, in the sports section. Subcontracting is not permitted.

The announcement is signed by the Provincial Deputy delegated for Youth and Sport, by delegation of signature from the President, according to Resolution No. 10,355/2023, of September 13.

The call represents significant economic support for the provincial sports fabric, allowing absolute category clubs from León to face their national competitions with greater financial stability and fostering high-level sports practice throughout the province.
