The Provincial Council of Cuenca distributes 270,000 euros among 195 seniors' associations

The Provincial Council of Cuenca has published in the Official Provincial Gazette the Proposed Final Resolution of the Call for Grants for Seniors’ Associations 2026, which distributes a total of 270,000 euros among 195 admitted associations. The proposal, signed on September 2, 2026, appears in issue number 102 of the gazette, dated September 4, 2026, under reference NO. 2099.

The call was approved by Decree No. 3,636, of May 19, 2026, published in B.O.P. No. 59, of May 25, 2026. The instructor of the procedure is Ms. Mª Ángeles Briones Peralta, General Coordinator of Social Services of the Council, and the resolution is signed by the deputy for Social Services, Equality, and Cooperation, Eva García García-Marquina.

Funding and modalities

The funding is carried out through two budgetary applications of the current provincial budget:

  • 306 231 4800140 “Aid for Seniors’ Associations”, with 230,000 euros, intended for the carrying out of activities and cultural trips.
  • 306 231 7800020 “Aid for Retiree Clubs and Homes”, with 40,000 euros, intended for the acquisition of equipment and furniture.

The awarding procedure is one of competitive bidding, in accordance with article 22.1 of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17. The Evaluation Commission met on August 4, 2026, to study and score the applications.

Admissions and exclusions

Of the 200 applications submitted, 5 have been excluded and 195 have been admitted, as they meet the requirements of the Fifth Rule of the call. The exclusions correspond to:

  • Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias Association Valle del Cabriel (Minglanilla), for failing to comply with the first basis.
  • “La Santa Cruz” Retirees and Pensioners Association (Alberca de Záncara), due to withdrawal.
  • “Los Girasoles” Retirees and Pensioners Association (Albaladejo del Cuende), due to withdrawal.
  • Albalate de las Nogueras Home, due to withdrawal.
  • “San Antonio de Padua” Retirees and Pensioners Association (Albendea), due to withdrawal.

Distribution of the amount

The total assigned amount is distributed among the four modalities of the call:

  • Modality A: 201,697.51 euros.
  • Modality B: 10,000 euros.
  • Modality C: 30,000 euros.
  • Modality D: 28,302.49 euros.

Payment will be made in the form of total advance payment of the granted subsidy. The execution period for the projects ends on September 30, 2026, and the justification period on November 30, 2026; failure to provide justification will lead to the total or partial reimbursement along with late payment interest.

Acceptance period

Proposed beneficiaries have ten business days from the publication in the B.O.P. to communicate their acceptance or rejection; the grant will be understood as accepted if they do not expressly oppose it. The award will also be published in the National Grants Database (BDNS) and on the electronic office of the Provincial Council.

This call represents key support for the elderly groups of the province, which will fund activities, cultural trips, and the improvement of equipment for their clubs and retirement homes, within a context of an aging rural population in Cuenca.
