The Provincial Council of Cáceres changes the secretary of the tribunal for 73 firefighters

Por FactBox Admin

The Provincial Council of Cáceres has modified the composition of the tribunal responsible for selecting 73 firefighter drivers, a high-volume process affecting applicants from across the province. The decision, adopted by resolution of the president Miguel Ángel Morales Sánchez dated August 27, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 0166, dated August 31, 2026, in Section I of Local Administration.

Assumption of Competence

The resolution agrees, first and foremost, to specifically assume the competence regarding the designation of the members of the tribunals, both for selection and for the provision of job positions. Consequently, the Presidency directly assumes the power to appoint the members of these evaluation bodies.

The text specifies that the Presidency reserves the powers inherent to it regarding the competence regime, and that any doubts arising from the interpretation of the resolution shall be resolved by the Presidency itself.

Change in the Tribunal Secretariat

In application of this assumption of competence, the composition of the selection tribunal for the 73 firefighter driver positions is modified, with the substitution of the titular secretary:

  • Guadalupe García Pérez, who held the position of titular secretary, departs.
  • María Elena Machado Tejero enters, designated as the new titular secretary.

The remainder of the tribunal’s composition remains unchanged according to what was published in the gazette.

Publication and Appeals

The resolution is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres and will be reported to the Plenary of the Corporation, without prejudice to its effectiveness from the date of signing, and notified to the deputies. The document, with reference CVE: BOP-2026-4085, appears on pages 19991 and 19992 of number 0166.

Pursuant to Article 88.3 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, the resolution is final in the administrative channel. The following may be filed against it:

  • Contentious-Administrative Appeal before the Court of said Jurisdiction of Cáceres, within two months of its receipt.
  • Optional Appeal for Reversal before the Presidency, within one month of its notification.

The resolution is signed by the secretary José Álvaro Casas Avilés in Cáceres, on August 27, 2026.

Relevance of the Process

The modification of the tribunal comes at a key moment for the selection process for 73 firefighter-driver positions, one of the largest calls for applications in the province, which determines the reinforcement of the fire stations dependent on the Provincial Council. For the applicants, the renewal of the tribunal’s secretariat guarantees the continuity and legal certainty of the procedure, which proceeds with full guarantees of publicity and appeal.
