The Provincial Council of Cáceres expands 2026 subsidies by more than 1.2 million

The Provincial Council of Cáceres has approved a modification of the Strategic Grant Plan for the 2026 financial year, with credit increases exceeding 1.2 million euros distributed among city councils, associations, and entities throughout the province. The resolution, signed by the secretary Álvaro Casas Avilés on August 11, 2026, is published in the BOP of Cáceres on August 20, 2026 (reference BOP-2026-3940).

The plan was approved by Presidential Resolution on January 12, 2026, and published in BOP 0009 on January 15, 2026, in compliance with article 8.1 of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and R.D. 887/2006, of July 21. Section 15 provides that modifications shall be processed by the Treasury and Local Entity Assistance area, under the competence of the President, after receiving credit proposals during the month of July.

Increases in the Treasury area

The Treasury and Local Entity Assistance area concentrates the bulk of the items, with €458,146.75 in increases and €271,129.25 in reductions. Among the nominative grants to city councils, the following stand out:

• Valdastillas City Council (€18,000) for enclosure and climate control adaptation works.
• Villanueva de la Vera City Council (€18,000) for the installation of air pumps.
• Cabezuela del Valle City Council (€18,000) for improvements to the “Puente del Simón” metal bridge.
• Puerto de Santa Cruz City Council (€18,000) for equipment for the pool bar.
• El Gordo City Council (€18,000) for the enclosure of the sports court.
• Valdecañas del Tajo City Council (€18,000) for improvements to the municipal pool.
• Deleitosa City Council (€18,000) for works in the municipal cemetery.
• Pozuelo de Zarzón City Council (€18,000) for the adaptation of the children’s playground.
• Valencia de Alcántara City Council (€4,600) for an access ramp to the police station building.

Entities such as Mandiles Solidarios (€4,000), the Minimally Invasive Surgery Center Foundation (€34,476.25 and €15,000), the Plataforma Sí Almaraz (€8,600), the Rebross Foundation (€6,000), the Extremadura Film Academy (€15,000), and the University of Extremadura (€13,500, €25,000, and €23,280), among others, are also funded.

Development, mobility, and provincial agenda

The Development, Mobility, and Provincial Agenda area totals €133,000 in increases and €65,000 in reductions. Highlights include:

• Placeat Association (€35,000) for the acquisition of a vehicle.
• Cocemfe Association (€30,000) for the acquisition of a vehicle.
• Riolobos City Council (€18,500) for provincial coexistence.
• Gato Pardo Cultural Association (€12,500) for the Cine Periferias Festival.
• Moralo Business Circle Association (€37,000).

Culture and Sports

The Culture and Sports area records the highest volume, with €620,852 in increases and €163,352 in reductions. Among the most relevant items:

• Club Deportivo Coria (€200,000) for investments in the football field.
• Asociación La bicicleta de Elliott (€100,000) for the Cáceres Film Commission Territorio Cine project.
• Call for companies and freelancers in the cinematographic and audiovisual sector (€260,000).
• Montánchez City Council (€18,000) for the Novillada Goyesca.
• Casar de Cáceres City Council (€18,000) for the 2026 National Cheese Fair.
• Portaje City Council (€9,000) for the Camarón de la Isla Flamenco Festival.
• Almoharín City Council (€9,000) for the VIII Fig Agri-Food Fair.

The modification of the plan reinforces local financing in the province during a period marked by the demand for support for city councils, associations, and non-profit entities, with items ranging from municipal works and swimming pools to sports, culture, and democratic memory. Publication in the official bulletin guarantees transparency and control over aid that directly affects the life of the municipalities of Cáceres.
