Regulatory framework

The processing is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Article 177.2 of Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. This regulation governs the procedure for credit modification of local entities and guarantees citizen participation through the process of public exhibition and claims.

The edict, signed in Burgos on August 31, 2026, by the president of the Council, Borja Suárez Pedrosa, is published in section III. Local Administration of the gazette, under the heading of the Provincial Council of Burgos.

Relevance of the measure

The credit modification of more than 13.6 million euros represents a significant readjustment of the provincial budget items for the 2026 fiscal year, which directly affects the economic management and the financing of the services that the Council provides to the municipalities of the province. The opening of the allegations process allows citizens and entities to know the destination of the funds and, if applicable, formulate objections before the modification is definitively approved.
