La Diputación de Alicante nombra 21 enfermeros funcionarios de carrera

The Provincial Council of Alicante has appointed 21 people as career civil servants for Nursing Diploma positions, twenty of them through the open competition and one through internal promotion. The appointment was agreed upon by Decree no. 4817, dated October 26, 2026, from the Provincial Deputy for Human Resources and the Pedro Herrero Institute, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante (BOP) number 207, dated October 30, 2026, with the official reference 8359/2026.

The announcement is issued under article 62.1.b) of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the revised text of the Law of the Basic Statute of Public Employees, which requires the publication of the appointment of those who pass the selection process in the official gazette. The publication is made “for general knowledge and for the interested parties,” according to the text disseminated by the Human Resources area.

The positions are categorized under the Special Administration Scale, Technical sub-scale, Technical Means class, with classification subgroup A2, and correspond to the position designated as Nursing Diploma. The administrative act was signed in Alicante on October 26, 2026, and bears the signatures of the Director of the Human Resources Area, the Provincial Deputy for Human Resources and the Pedro Herrero Institute, and the General Secretary.

Open competition: twenty positions filled

The majority of the appointments, twenty in total, correspond to the open competition and are listed in the announcement by order number:

One position through internal promotion

The announcement reserves a single appointment for the internal promotion track, that of Víctor Molina Belmonte, completing the figure of 21 career civil servants. With this addition, the provincial health staff adds permanent personnel in the Nursing category, following a selection procedure that affected 21 positions.

A selection process with resolved litigation

The appointment comes after the Governing Board of the Provincial Council, in an ordinary session on September 28, 2026, acknowledged judgment number 299, dated July 20, 2026, issued by the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of First Instance of Alicante, Plaza nº 1. This resolution dismissed the appeal filed against the Provincial Council’s resolutions which rejected the allegations regarding a question in the first exercise of the selection process for the provision of 21 Nursing Diploma positions. The judicial ruling cleared the final objection regarding the development of the exercise and allowed for the completion of the appointments now published.

Impact for applicants and for the Pedro Herrero Institute

The 21 new career civil servants acquire stability within the provincial staff and reinforce the healthcare provided by the Provincial Council, particularly that which depends on the Pedro Herrero Institute, an organization whose Human Resources area signs the decree along with the relevant deputy. For applicants still waiting in other selection processes, the publication confirms that the announced positions are definitively filled, and for interim or temporary staff, it represents the consolidation of a part of the Nursing structure. The dissemination in the BOP also opens the period for administrative and economic effects inherent to taking office as career civil service personnel.

The stabilization of these 21 positions closes a relevant chapter for provincial healthcare: the Provincial Council of Alicante secures a complete block of Nursing professionals in its staff and reduces dependence on temporary arrangements, backed by the judicial ruling that endorsed the selection process.
