The Provincial Council of Albacete announces 29 firefighter positions via internal promotion

The Provincial Council of Albacete has announced a selection process via competitive examination (concurso-oposición) under an internal promotion regime to fill 29 positions in the Fire Extinction Service, included in the 2025 Public Employment Offer. The announcement, signed on August 20, 2026, by the president of the institution, Santiago Cabañero Masip, is published in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha (DOCM) number 170, dated September 4, 2026, in the Local Administration Announcements section, with official reference [2026/6278].

The full terms and conditions of the call were published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete number 96, dated August 19, 2026. The process is aimed at the civil servant personnel of the Council’s staff, within the Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Fire Extinction Service Personnel Class.

Positions announced

The call includes two categories within the fire department, distributed into two classification subgroups:

• 22 positions for Sepei Corporal (Group C, Subgroup C2).
• 7 positions for Sepei Sergeant (Group C, Subgroup C1).

In total, 29 middle-management positions for the fire extinction service, which will be filled through the internal promotion competitive examination system, reserved for personnel already serving on the Council’s civil service staff.

Deadline and processing

The deadline for submitting applications will be twenty business days, counting from the day following the publication of the summary announcement of the call in the Official State Gazette (BOE). Applicants must stay alert for said publication to formalize their request within the established timeframe.

Subsequent announcements regarding these calls will be published on the Provincial Council’s Notice Board and, where appropriate, in the Official Gazette of the Province of Albacete, in accordance with the provisions of the call’s terms.
