The Provincial Council announces equality grants for municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants

The Provincial Council of Ciudad Real has announced grants for programs and activities promoting the principle of gender equality aimed at town councils and Eatims (entities with territorial scope smaller than a municipality) with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants. The agreement of the provincial Governing Board, dated September 15, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 181, dated September 21, 2026, under announcement number 2990 and reference BDNS 930185. Interested entities have one month from the day following publication to submit their application, exclusively via electronic means.

The call is processed under articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, which requires the publication of an abstract of every call in the National Grants Database. The regulatory bases are those of the Regulating Regulation of the Economic Assistance and Municipal Cooperation Plan, approved by the Plenary of the Provincial Council in the session of April 29, 2022, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province number 121, dated June 24, 2022. The announcement is signed by the head of the B.O.P. section, Juan Luis Cuadros Campo, on September 19, 2026.

The Economic Assistance and Municipal Cooperation Plan is the instrument through which the Provincial Council channels its financial support to the town councils of the province, and on this occasion, it is oriented toward equality policies. The call is approved for the 2026 fiscal year and is added to other provincial lines published this month, such as the 2026 Employment Plan, approved by the Governing Board on September 8, 2026.

Target Audience

• Town councils of the province of Ciudad Real with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.
• Entities with territorial scope smaller than a municipality (Eatims) of the province with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.
• Those who apply in accordance with the content of the call and the Regulation of the Economic Assistance and Municipal Cooperation Plan may apply.

Purpose and Award Criteria

The purpose is the implementation of programs and activities that promote the principle of equality between genders, reduce inequalities, and attempt to equalize capacities and opportunities between both.

The maximum amount that each municipality or Eatim can obtain is listed in Annex I of the call and is determined by objective criteria, with a fixed amount per population brackets established according to the latest official figures approved by the INE.

Deadline and Submission of Applications

• Deadline: one month starting from the day following the publication in the BOP, which took place on September 21, 2026.
• Submission: exclusively via electronic means.
• Full text: electronic office of the Provincial Council (sede.dipucr.es) and National Grants Database.
• Publicity: National Grants Publicity System, in accordance with the Resolution of 12/10/2015 of the State General Comptroller (BOE number 299, of 12/15/2015).

The measure has a broad scope in rural areas: the majority of the province’s municipalities have fewer than 5,000 inhabitants, meaning practically all small town halls and their Eatims (Municipal Entities with Independent Legal Personality) can apply for these grants. For these entities, the grant represents a way to finance awareness and equality promotion activities that they would struggle to afford with their own resources.
