The announcement appears on page 12801 of the gazette, with official reference BOP-A-2026-3002.
The decree is signed by the 1st Vice President and Delegated Deputy for Infrastructure, Sustainability, and Agriculture, Andrés Lorite Lorite, and is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies. Beneficiaries and objective
Holders of Andalusian beekeeping operations registered in the Integrated Livestock Management System SIGGAN-Apícola of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development of the Regional Government of Andalusia may participate, provided they comply with the parameters of the current honey quality standard (RD 1049/2003, of August 1, 2003).
The contest seeks to enhance the image of Andalusian honeys, promote their distribution, marketing, and consumption, and support beekeeping as an essential activity for the maintenance of biodiversity and the protection of the environment.
Categories and prizes
The call distinguishes four categories of honey, each with two prizes:
- Light monofloral honeys.
- Dark monofloral honeys.
- Multiflower honeys.
- Organic honeys.
Two awards are granted for each category:
- First prize, with an endowment of 850 euros.
- Quality runner-up (Accésit), with 400 euros.
The endowments are subject to any applicable tax withholdings.
Deadline and submission of samples
The deadline for submitting applications is fifteen business days starting from the day following the publication of the extract in the B.O.P. of Córdoba. Samples must be sent to the Department of Environment of the Provincial Council of Córdoba (Avenida del Mediterráneo, s/n, 14071 Córdoba) by October 15, 2026.
Participants shall send the samples in duplicate, in new 500-gram glass containers, model A370 or similar, without any external markings on the jar. Only one sample per category may be submitted per registration number. Along with the samples, the following documentation shall be sent in a sealed envelope:
- Copy of the application for participation submitted through the electronic office of the Provincial Council.
- Beekeeping registration number.
- Contact details (address and telephone).
- Type of honey (category chosen), specifying the variety in the case of monofloral honey.
The call for applications represents a direct boost to the Andalusian beekeeping sector, which sees the quality of its productions recognized and obtains an economic stimulus for its commercialization. With the sample submission period open until mid-October, the community’s beekeepers have a concrete opportunity to make their work visible and reinforce the value of honey as a quality product.
