La Diputación cede a Valdepeñas 29,78 kilómetros de la carretera CR-624

The Provincial Council of Ciudad Real has formalized the free transfer to the Valdepeñas City Council of the 29.78 kilometers of the CR-624 road located between that town and Cózar, a section valued at 4,169,200 euros. The transfer was formalized on October 27, 2026, and is considered effective for all purposes from that date. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 209, Thursday, October 29, 2026, on page 10159 (announcement number 3479).

Definitive De-allocation and Municipal Acceptance

The file reaches the gazette with the two previous procedures already closed. On one hand, the Provincial Council made the de-allocation and the free transfer of the section definitive through Decree 2026/12713, dated October 21, 2026. On the other, the Valdepeñas City Council expressly accepted the transfer through a Plenary agreement on October 5, 2026.

With both steps completed, the transfer was formalized on October 27, 2026, in the provincial capital, with the signatures of the president of the provincial institution, Miguel Ángel Valverde Menchero, and the general secretary, Luis Jesús de Juan Casero. The announcement is inserted in the local administration section, under the heading of the Registration, Information and Heritage Service of the Provincial Council.

The publication is made, according to the official text, “for general knowledge,” so that the asset operation remains open to public consultation and potential challenge by holders of legitimate interests.

A Route Between Two Municipal Terms

The road subject to the transfer is identified with these technical data:

  • Denomination: CR-624, description “Valdepeñas to Cózar”.
  • Initial node: “Valdepeñas. c/ Madre Cándida corner C/ Veracruz”.
  • Final node: “Cózar. CM-3129 p.k. 29+960”.
  • Length: 29,780 meters, i.e., 29.78 kilometers.
  • Classification: public domain asset.
  • Valuation: 4,169,200.00 euros.

The route, therefore, starts in the urban center of Valdepeñas and connects with the CM-3129 in the term of Cózar, at kilometer point 29+960. The transfer shifts the ownership to the Valdepeñas City Council and, with it, the obligations for conservation and maintenance of the road, although the announcement does not detail the distribution of burdens between the involved administrations nor the state of the road at the time of delivery.

The prior de-allocation is the requirement that allows the section to be removed from the provincial public domain and transferred to the municipal heritage, a common procedure for roads in the provincial network that run entirely through a single municipality or that have lost their supra-municipal connection function.

Deadlines and Means of Appeal

The announcement incorporates the applicable challenge regime:

  • Optional appeal for reversal (recurso potestativo de reposición) before the same body that issued the resolution, within a period of one month starting from the day following the notification.
  • Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Sections of the Courts of First Instance of Ciudad Real, within a period of two months from that same day.
  • Mandatory electronic submission for legal entities and other subjects obliged to interact electronically with the local entity, in accordance with Article 14 of the Common Administrative Procedure Act of Public Administrations.

The document incorporates a Secure Verification Code (MzW1+Te+LyGoGLkWBcso) to verify its authenticity on the corporate electronic office of the Provincial Council.

The transfer has immediate practical effects for the residents of Valdepeñas and Cózar: the maintenance, signage, and future improvement works of the CR-624 cease to depend on the Provincial Council and will now be managed by the Valdepeñas City Council, which assumes a section of nearly thirty kilometers and an asset value exceeding four million euros.
