The Provincial Council approves three sodium chloride silos on roads

The Provincial Council of Zamora has initially approved, by Agreement of the Governing Board dated September 9, 2026, three projects for the construction of sodium chloride silos on various provincial roads, funded by the 2026 Own Funds. The announcements are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Zamora number 107, dated September 14, 2026, in section III of Local Administration, and open a period of twenty business days for allegations.

The three projects, drafted by Sergio Ruiz Pérez, civil engineer, and signed by the president of the Corporation, Javier Faúndez Domínguez, aim to provide salt storage infrastructure to the provincial road network for the winter maintenance of the roads.

Three silos at three points of the provincial network

The actions are distributed across the Zamora territory and correspond to the following files and base tender budgets, all including 21% VAT:

• Road ZA-P-1102, p. k. 4+500, East exit of Villaralbo: budget of €80,960.81 (reference R-202602178).
• Road ZA-P-1511, p. k. 3+000, in Benavente: budget of €78,790.46 (reference R-202602179).
• Road ZA-P-2669, P. K. 1+600, in Lubián: budget of €79,389.12 (reference R-202602177).

Altogether, the planned investment is around 239,000 euros, fully financed by the 2026 Own Funds of the Provincial Council of Zamora.

Legal framework and processing

The initial approval is carried out in accordance with article 231 of Law 9/2017, of November 8, on Public Sector Contracts, in relation to article 93 of Royal Legislative Decree 781/1986, of April 18, and article 83 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

The projects are open to the public for a period of twenty business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcements in the provincial gazette. During this period, interested parties may submit the appropriate allegations and claims, which will be resolved by the Provincial Corporation.

Period for allegations and consultation

If no allegation or claim is submitted, the projects will be understood as definitively approved. The complete documents are available to interested parties in the Transparency Portal of the Council’s electronic office, at the address diputaciondezamora.sedelectronica.es/transparency.

The announcements, dated in Zamora on September 10, 2026, and electronically signed on September 11, allow companies and citizens to know the technical and economic details of each action before its final tender.

Relevance for the province

The installation of these sodium chloride silos strengthens the Provincial Council’s capacity to respond to snowfall and frosts at three strategic points of the provincial network, improving road safety during winter. The distribution of the depots in Villaralbo, Benavente, and Lubián —the latter in the Sanabria region, near the border with León— guarantees more agile coverage of winter maintenance on the province’s roads.
