The Provincial Council of Cuenca has definitively approved the file for the IV Modification of the Execution Bases of the 2026 Budget, as no objections were filed, incorporating new nominative grants. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cuenca number 98, dated August 26, 2026, under number 2047, for general knowledge for the purposes of article 169.1 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries.
The modification, processed by the Budgetary Management and Grants Area, updates Execution Base No. 4/2026 with three nominative grants incorporated into the current budget, along with their objectives and budgetary applications. The announcement is signed by the Deputy for Economy and Finance, Emma Cano Díaz.
Beneficiaries and amounts
The new nominative grants are distributed among the regional public university and two municipalities in the province, with a total amount of 115,000 euros:
- University of Castilla-La Mancha (CIF Q1368009E), application 305.462.4500009: research project scholarships, in the amount of €50,000.
- City Council of Alcalá de la Vega (CIF P1600800E), application 307.459.7620046: fountain in Alcalá de la Vega and conditioning of the municipal laundry in El Cubillo, in the amount of €40,000.
- City Council of Fuentelespino de Moya (CIF P1609100A), application 307.459.7620046: construction of a warehouse and toilets in the sports center, phase III, in the amount of €25,000.
Regulatory framework and appeals
The definitive approval occurs after the public exhibition process, as no objections were filed against the file. A contentious-administrative appeal may be filed against the agreement within two months from the day of the publication of the announcement, in accordance with article 171.1 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, and article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, of the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction.
According to article 171.3 of the same revised text, the filing of an appeal shall not, by itself, suspend the effectiveness of the contested act or agreement.
Impact on the province
The incorporation of these nominative grants reinforces provincial investment in university research and municipal infrastructure. The research project scholarships for the University of Castilla-La Mancha consolidate support for scientific activity, while the allocations destined for Alcalá de la Vega and Fuentelespino de Moya finance works to improve public services and sports facilities in rural areas.
With this fourth modification, the Provincial Council adjusts its 2026 budget to the unforeseen needs of the municipalities and entities of the province, guaranteeing the execution of projects with a direct impact on the territory.
