The Provincial Council approves restoring the Assembly Hall of the Provincial Palace.

The Provincial Council of Cuenca has provisionally approved the restoration works project for the Assembly Hall of the Provincial Palace, with a tender base budget of €82,582.60, including 21% VAT. The decision is set out in Resolution No. 6216, of 11 August 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cuenca number 92, of 12 August 2026, page 42 (No. 1949). The file is subject to a public information period of 20 working days prior to its final approval.
The notice, sent by the Architecture and Urban Planning Service of the provincial institution, is published in compliance with Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of the Public Administrations, and with article 93 of Royal Legislative Decree 781/1986, of 18 April, approving the Consolidated Text of the Legal Provisions in force on Local Government. The resolution is issued under the powers conferred by article 34.1 of Law 7/1985, of 2 April, Regulating the Bases of Local Government.
The document is signed by the deputy responsible for the service, José Luis Gómez Bachiller, acting by special delegation and delegated signature by virtue of Decree No. 2024/4779, of 10 July 2024. The resolution orders that it be forwarded to the following bodies:
- Comptroller’s Office.
- Architecture and Urban Planning Service.
- Cooperation and Procurement Service.
The drafters of the project
The project, already sent to the Cooperation and Procurement Service, has been drafted by two technical staff members of the Architecture and Urban Planning Service of the Most Excellent Provincial Council of Cuenca:
- Ana Toscano de las Heras, architect.
- Miguel Ángel García Saiz, technical architect.
Public consultation and submissions
Prior to final approval, the project will be placed on public display for a period of 20 working days, counted from the first working day following publication of the notice. During this period, interested parties may examine the project and submit the representations they deem appropriate at the following locations:
- In the Official Gazette of the Province of Cuenca.
- On the notice board of the Electronic Office of the Provincial Council of Cuenca (https://sede.dipucuenca.es/tablondeanuncios/).
Budget and scope of the works
The key figures of the intervention are as follows:
- Tender base budget: €82,582.60, including VAT (21%).
- Purpose: restoration works for the Assembly Hall of the Provincial Palace.
- Current phase: provisional approval, prior to final approval and the subsequent contracting of the works.
The restoration of the Assembly Hall of the Provincial Palace, institutional seat of the Provincial Council of Cuenca, constitutes an emblematic intervention on the province’s heritage.
