The Provincial Council approves the Ávila Strategic Tourism Plan 2026-2031

The Plenary Session of the Provincial Council of Ávila, by agreement of August 3, 2026, has initially approved the document “Strategic Tourism Plan of the Province of Ávila 2026-2031”, which defines the province’s tourism roadmap for the next five years. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ávila number 163, dated August 25, 2026, under case number 1732/26.

The document is subject to a public information process for a period of twenty business days, counted from the publication of the announcement in the official gazette, in accordance with the provisions of Article 83.3 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

Purpose and scope of the plan

The plan defines the provincial tourism strategy for the 2026-2031 period, establishing the lines of action, objectives, and priorities that will guide the promotion and development of tourism throughout the province of Ávila. Its initial approval now opens the citizen participation phase before its final approval.

During the public information period, the document will be available for examination by any interested party at the following locations:

Allegations and final approval

Any interested party may submit allegations or suggestions regarding the document during the period of twenty business days. In the event that no allegations or suggestions are submitted, the document will be considered definitively approved without the need for a new agreement.

The announcement was signed in Ávila on August 20, 2026, by the President of the Provincial Council, Carlos García González.

Relevance for the province

The approval of this plan represents a milestone for the province’s tourism planning, as it establishes for the first time a multi-year strategic framework that will guide the policies of promotion, sustainability, and development of the sector.
