The Provincial Council opens the collection of the fourth period of provincial taxes

Por FactBox Admin

The Official Gazette of the Province of Granada (no. 166, of August 28, 2026) publishes the collection edict for the fourth period of 2026, by which the Provincial Tax Service of the Provincial Council of Granada opens the single voluntary payment period for tax receipts, fees, public prices, and public law revenues from September 1 to November 20, 2026. The announcement, signed by the vice president of the service, Ana María Molina Gálvez, is issued under Article 24 of Royal Decree 939/2005, of July 29, which approves the General Collection Regulations.

Concepts and affected municipalities

The collection applies to taxpayers of the municipalities and public law corporations listed in the edict, with the following main concepts:

  • Tax on Economic Activities (IAE) 2026.
  • Property Tax (IBI), urban and rural, annual 2026.
  • Mechanical Traction Vehicle Tax (IVTM) annual 2026.
  • Fees for water, garbage, and sewage, by quarters or bimonthly depending on the municipality.
  • Real estate with special characteristics, driveways, terraces, niches, street markets, and other public law revenues.

How and where to pay

Payment can be made by bank card (Mastercard and VISA) by scanning the QR code on the receipt or through the service’s website (tributosgranada.es), as well as at collaborating entities and via postal order. The collaborating entities are:

  • Caja Rural de Granada, Caixabank, BBVA, Banco de Santander, Caja Sur, Unicaja, Banco de Sabadell, and Cajamar.

Anyone who does not receive the receipt at their home may request a duplicate on the website, at the respective city hall, or at any of the Provincial Tax Service offices in the province (Albolote, Alhama de Granada, Almuñécar, Baza, Granada, Guadix, Huéscar, Íllora, Iznalloz, La Herradura, La Zubia, Loja, Órgiva, and Santa Fe).

Exhibition of the IAE collection lists

The same gazette publishes the announcement for the exhibition of the 2026 Tax on Economic Activities Collection Lists (reference BOP-GRA-2026-166002), approved by Resolution of the Vice Presidency of the Provincial Tax Service number 289, of August 10, 2026, by virtue of the agreements for the delegation of powers from the Municipal Plenums in favor of the Provincial Council of Granada. The lists are open to the public for twenty business days from the day following their publication, with the announcement serving as collective notification of the settlements.

Surcharges and appeals

Once the voluntary period has elapsed, unpaid debts will be demanded through the enforcement procedure and will accrue executive period surcharges, late payment interest and, where applicable, legal costs. An appeal for reversal may be filed against the settlements before the Presidency of the Provincial Tax Service within one month from the end of the public exhibition period, prior to administrative-litigation proceedings before the Court of First Instance of Granada, without the filing of the appeal halting the administrative collection action unless an express request for suspension is made.

The opening of this collection period affects virtually all municipalities in the province; therefore, taxpayers must pay their receipts before November 20, 2026, to avoid enforcement surcharges and the initiation of the executive collection process.
