The Provincial Council opens grants for investments in municipal nursing homes for the elderly

The Governing Board of the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real approved on September 22, 2026, the call for grants for investments in municipally-owned elderly care homes for the 2026 financial year. The agreement is disseminated via an extract in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 185, dated September 25, 2026, under announcement number 3052 and identification BDNS 931264. Municipalities in the province that have their own care home have until November 6, 2026, to submit their application.

The publication of the extract is supported by articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, which require the publication of calls through the National Grants Database. The regulatory bases are those of the Regulating Regulation of the Economic Assistance and Municipal Cooperation Plan, approved by the Plenary of the Provincial Council in the session of April 29, 2022, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province number 121, dated June 24, 2022. Regarding works and services under municipal jurisdiction, the call implements the provisions of article 36.2 of the Law on the Bases of the Local Regime.

Beneficiaries and purpose of the aid

• All municipalities in the province that have municipally-owned care homes and request it may apply, in accordance with the content of the call and the provincial plan regulation.
• The award criteria also include EATIMs (local entities with a territorial scope smaller than a municipality).
• The purpose is the granting of aid for the execution of investments in municipally-owned elderly care homes.

The declared objective is to contribute to guaranteeing quality services, collaborating in the sustainability and viability of these local public ownership centers.

Amounts and distribution criteria

• The maximum amount that each municipality and EATIM can obtain is listed in Annex I of the call.
• The assigned amounts are determined by objective criteria: a fixed amount per municipality and a variable amount based on the number of places and the management model of the center.

The distribution is not resolved by competition between projects, but through a pre-set allocation that each town hall can consult before submitting its application.

• The deadline for submitting applications ends on November 6, 2026.
• Applications resulting from this call and any other subsequent procedures must be carried out exclusively via electronic means.

The call affects all town councils in the province that manage their own elderly residence, a particularly sensitive service due to the aging of the rural population. The grants allow for improvement and maintenance works to be undertaken without the cost falling entirely on municipal coffers, and the set deadline leaves just over a month to formalize the request electronically.
