The Provincial Council opens 215,000 euros for introductory sports schools

The Provincial Council of Toledo has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Toledo number 166, dated September 1, 2026, the call for grants for the implementation of the 2026-2027 Introductory Sports Schools Program, with a maximum budget of 215,000 euros. The call, approved by the Governing Board Agreement of August 28, 2026, is aimed at city councils and administrative autonomous bodies of the province with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.

Beneficiaries and objective

Local Entities and Administrative Autonomous Bodies (PDM, IMD) of the province of Toledo may apply for the call, excluding city councils whose population exceeds 5,000 inhabitants according to the municipal census published as of January 1, 2025, in accordance with the INE.

The grants will finance the expenses generated by the 2026-2027 introductory schools, derived from the exercise of municipal competencies in sports matters attributed by article 25.l) of the Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of the Local Regime.

Amount and financing

The maximum amount for the granting of subsidies amounts to 215,000 euros, financed through the budget allocation 2027/3410/462.00 “To City Councils”. The approval of future expenditure is subject to the entry into force of the 2027 budget and the existence of an adequate budget appropriation.

The maximum individualized grant per Local Entity or Autonomous Body is determined in the Eighth Base of the call.

Deadline and method of submission

Applications must be submitted within ten business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP, by means of a request signed by the Mayor or President of the requesting entity, addressed to the Honorable President of the Council, electronically in accordance with article 14.2 of the Law 39/2015, of October 1, on Common Administrative Procedure. The places of submission are:

• The Electronic Office of the Provincial Council of Toledo, in the “General Purpose Request” section.
• Through the ORVE.
• Through any other electronic registry provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015.

Applications submitted after the deadline or by means other than those indicated will not be admitted for processing. The deadline for the justification of the grants ends on June 30, 2027.

The call, signed by the President of the Provincial Council, María Concepción Cedillo Tardío, exhausts the administrative route, and an appeal for reversal may be filed against it within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Courts of Toledo within two months. This line of aid reinforces the provincial institution’s support for grassroots sports in the smallest municipalities of Toledo, ensuring that minors in towns of fewer than 5,000 inhabitants can access introductory sports offerings without the size of the municipality posing a barrier.
