The Provincial Council of Tarragona announces a vacancy for a mid-level technician via internal promotion

The Diputació de Tarragona has announced the selection process to fill one career civil servant position as a special administration medium technician, through a competitive examination (concurs oposició) in the internal promotion category. The call, signed by Presidency decree number 2026-5800, dated August 17, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona (BOPT) on August 24, 2026, with the official reference CVE 2026-07956.

The position, number 1046 according to the staff list, is assigned to the People and Talent Area — People and Talent Development Unit - Equality, with remuneration A2-22-50. The position is included in the Public Employment Offer for the year 2026, published in the BOPT on May 22, 2026, and is governed by the general regulatory bases for the corporation’s selection processes, published in the BOPT on November 3, 2022.

Requirements and conditions of the position

The position corresponds to group A, subgroup A2, special administration scale, technical subscale, diploma technician class, under civil servant status and career character. The selection system is a competitive examination and the category is internal promotion, with a single position announced.

Applicants must meet the following specific requirements:

• Hold a university Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, officially recognized if obtained abroad.
• Accredit Catalan level C1 (or equivalent) and, if applicable, Spanish level C2 for those who do not hold Spanish nationality nor originate from countries where Spanish is an official language.
• Have the status of career civil servant of the Diputació de Tarragona or its autonomous bodies, in the immediately lower group, in active service.
• Have provided at least two years of effective service in the immediately lower group.

As this is an internal promotion process, payment of the examination fee will not be required, in accordance with the corporation’s tax ordinance.

Deadline and submission of applications

Applications must be submitted electronically through the Electronic Office of the Diputació de Tarragona, accessing the IntraDT with the T-CAT card, within the Human Resources section. The submission period is 20 business days starting from the day after the publication of the summary of the call in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC).

Phases of the selection process

The process combines an examination phase, with a maximum of 60 points, and a merit phase, with a maximum of 22 points. The examination phase includes three exercises:

• First exercise: writing of a general and transversal topic, valued up to 20 points (minimum of 10 to pass).
• Second exercise: resolution of a practical case related to the functions of the position, valued up to 40 points (minimum of 20).
• Third exercise: language proficiency test (Catalan and, if applicable, Spanish), with a result of pass or fail.

The tests will begin approximately during the fourth quarter of 2026 or the first quarter of 2027. The document, consisting of 10 pages, is electronically signed by the deputy secretary Alberto Jose Arnau Esteller.

This call opens a path for internal promotion for the corporation’s civil servant staff, who will be able to access a position of technical responsibility without leaving the framework of the Diputació de Tarragona.
