The Ministry of Industry appoints the Labor Services Coordinator

The Regional Ministry of Industry, Universities, Employment and Trade of the Junta de Castilla y León has resolved the public call to fill, through the system of free appointment, the position of Services Coordinator of the General Directorate of Labor and Occupational Risk Prevention, based in Valladolid. The decision is formalized in Order IEM/801/2026, dated August 19, published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León number 163, dated August 24, 2026.

The position is awarded to Juan Jesús Lorenzo Alfonso, designated as the suitable candidate among those who applied for the post. The resolution, signed by the regional minister Juan Carlos Suárez-Quiñones Fernández, concludes a process initiated by Order IEM/645/2026, dated July 10, which announced the call in the B.O.C. y L. number 135, dated July 15, 2026.

Regulatory Framework and Procedure

The appointment is issued in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 26 of Law 3/2001, of July 3, on the Government and Administration of Castilla y León, and in accordance with Articles 48 and 51 of Law 7/2005, of May 24, on the Civil Service of Castilla y León. The mandatory report from the head of the superior body to which the called position is attached was previously issued.

The appointed official must, if applicable, cease their previous assignment and take possession of the new one within the regulatory timeframe. The records of cessation and taking possession must be sent to the General Personnel Registry within three days of their occurrence.

Appeals and Means of Challenge

Order IEM/801/2026 exhausts the administrative route. A contentious-administrative appeal may be filed against it within two months from the day following its publication before the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of First Instance, pursuant to Articles 8, 14, and 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13. Prior to this, and as an optional step, a request for reversal may also be filed with the regional minister within one month, according to Articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1.

The filling of this level 29 position reinforces the management structure of the General Directorate of Labor and Occupational Risk Prevention, a key body in the community’s occupational safety and employment policy. The appointment by free designation allows the Department to entrust the coordination of services to a technical profile from subgroup A1, guaranteeing the continuity of inspection and risk prevention functions in the province of Valladolid.
