Complutense announces 11,520 euros in summer housing grants
Por FactBox Admin

The Complutense University of Madrid has announced extraordinary financial aid for a maximum amount of 11,520 euros to assist students in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability who require alternative accommodation during the non-teaching summer period due to the closure of residential colleges. The call is formalized through the extract of the Resolution of September 7, 2026, of the UCM, published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid no. 222, of September 17, 2026, in section I.C of Other Provisions. The full text of the call can be consulted in the National Grants Database and on the university’s website.
The call is resolved on a competitive basis and is supported by the provisions of articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, a regulation that requires the publication of the extract of this type of call. The announcement is assigned the identifier BDNS: 928216 and the official document corresponds to reference BOCM-20260917-19, with order number 19 within the gazette.
Amount and purpose of the aid
The maximum amount of the call amounts to 11,520 euros, according to the first agreement of the extract. The aid will be used to offset two types of expenses during the non-teaching summer period:
- Alternative accommodation expenses.
- Basic subsistence.
The stated purpose is to cover students who are left without residence when the residential colleges close in summer, a period during which these centers interrupt their activity.
Who can apply
Beneficiaries may be students who, meeting the requirements established in the call, are enrolled at the UCM for the 2025-2026 academic year. The published text of the extract does not detail other additional conditions, which are referred to in the full text available in the National Grants Database and on the university’s website.
Deadline and method of submission
The application must be completed using the form accessible electronically via the address https://becas.ucm.es. The submission period is 10 business days following the publication of the extract of the call in the BOCM, that is, starting from September 17, 2026.
The extract was signed in Madrid on September 7, 2026, by the Vice-Rector for Students, Rosa María de la Fuente Fernández, by delegation of the Rector in accordance with Rectoral Decree 4/2025, of March 10. The document includes the internal processing reference (03/14.575/26).
The call for applications arrives with the 2025-2026 academic year already underway and responds to a structural problem for students with fewer resources: the loss of residential placement when the colegios mayores (residential colleges) close during the summer. With a maximum of 11,520 euros and a deadline of only 10 business days, affected students have a very short window to gather the documentation and submit their application electronically.
