Por FactBox Admin

The Comarca de Somontano de Barbastro has announced grants for a maximum amount of 125,000.00 euros intended to finance cultural activities of the region’s town councils during the year 2026. The call is published as an abstract in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca number 191, corresponding to Tuesday, October 6, 2026, with the official reference BOPH-2026-191027, and stems from the Presidential Resolution of October 2, 2026.
A line of the Strategic Grant Plan
The call corresponds to Line 3 of Chapter IV of the Strategic Grant Plan of the Comarca de Somontano de Barbastro, dedicated to competitive grants for the region’s town councils. The regulatory bases were approved on September 30, 2026, in the ordinary Regional Council.
The abstract is published under articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Grants, in relation to article 18 of Legislative Decree 2/2023, of May 3, of the Government of Aragon, which approves the consolidated text of the Aragon Grant Law. The full text is available in the National Grant Database, with the identifier BDNS 933186, and on the Comarca’s website.
Amounts and requirements for town councils
The objective is to regulate the granting of aid to the region’s town councils for the implementation of cultural activities during 2026. The planned amounts are:
- A maximum of 3,965.51 euros for municipalities with a single population center.
- An additional 500 euros for each population center, up to a maximum of 1,000.00 euros, in municipalities with two or more centers.
- In this case, the subsidized activity must be carried out in several centers, according to the complementary amount requested.
Town councils of the Somontano region may apply, although those that have received another grant from the Comarca in the cultural, sports, or environmental fields during the current year are excluded. The aid is charged to the budget application 4620000 3340000, under the concept of grants to town councils for cultural activities.
Fifteen business day deadline and electronic processing
The deadline for submitting applications is 15 business days starting from the publication of the abstract in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca. If the application does not meet the requirements, the applicant will be requested to rectify it within a maximum period of 10 days; failure to do so will result in the application being considered withdrawn, in accordance with article 68 of Law 39/2015, of October 1.
Applications are submitted through the electronic registry of the Comarca de Somontano and the other electronic registries provided for in Article 2.1 of Law 39/2015. The required documentation includes:
- General application addressed to the president of the Comarca.
- Annex I: descriptive memorandum of the actions to be carried out.
- Annex II: certificate of compliance with Article 9.c of Legislative Decree 2/2023.
Standardized forms and the guidelines are available at the Comarca offices and on its electronic headquarters. The grants are compatible with other aid for similar purposes, although their amount may not exceed, either individually or concurrently, the cost of the subsidized activity.
Parallel call for rural associations
The same issue of the bulletin includes a second regional call, BOPH-2026-191028, aimed at rural associations for cultural actions. In this case, the allocation amounts to 15,000.00 euros, with a maximum aid of 80% of the cost and a cap of 500 euros per application, and corresponds to Line 2 of Chapter IV of the same Strategic Plan. Both resolutions appear signed in Barbastro by the president of the Comarca, Saúl Pérez Lacasa.
The impact of these calls is direct for the municipalities of Somontano, which have fifteen business days to formalize their cultural projects for the fiscal year. The 125,000 euro line reinforces municipal cultural programming in a territory with numerous small centers, where the regional contribution is decisive in sustaining activities that would be difficult to finance with own resources.
