The Comarca de la Sierra de Albarracín opens a job bank for social workers

The Comarca de la Sierra de Albarracín has opened the call to establish an employment pool in the category of social workers, through a merit-based competition system. The announcement, number 2026-2498, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Teruel on August 25, 2026 (number 161), and the deadline for submitting applications is 20 business days starting from the day following its publication.

The call arises from the agreement adopted by the regional council on July 30, 2026, which approved the regulatory bases that will govern the process. The resulting pool will remain in effect until the implementation of a new process that replaces, updates, or modifies it, and the previous bases for the region’s social worker pool are hereby repealed.

Purpose and Applicant Requirements

The purpose of the pool is to guarantee the temporary coverage of vacancies and other social worker needs within the region, whether due to sick leave, substitutions, vacations, or other circumstantial needs, as well as accumulations of tasks or other specific situations requiring temporary hiring.

To participate, the following requirements are required, among others:

• Be Spanish or a national of a member state of the European Union, or another state with free movement of workers, as well as their spouses and descendants under the provided terms.
• Hold a degree or diploma in Social Work, or be in a position to obtain it by the end of the application submission period.
• Accept the itinerant nature of the position, possessing a B1 driver’s license and an available vehicle.
• Have no final convictions for crimes against sexual freedom and indemnity, proven by a negative certificate from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders.
• Pay the participation fee of 20 euros established by the region’s fiscal ordinance.

Submission of Applications and Selection Process

Applications must be submitted to the Registry of the Comarca de la Sierra de Albarracín, at calle Catedral, nº 5, Albarracín (CP 44100), or through the region’s electronic office, within the non-extendable period of 20 business days. The application must be accompanied by documentation proving identity, qualification, driver’s license, a negative certificate from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders, and the self-assessment merit form, along with proof of payment of the fee.

The selection system will be a merit-based competition, with a maximum score of 100 points, distributed in two blocks:

• Work experience, up to a maximum of 60 points, with 1 point per month worked as a social worker in the Public Administration.
• Training and qualifications, up to a maximum of 40 points, assessing related doctorates, master’s degrees, and postgraduate studies, degrees in related subjects (Sociology, Social Education, Social Anthropology, Psychology), and specific accredited courses.

The tribunal will consist of a president and four members, one of whom will act as secretary, along with their respective alternates, and parity between men and women will be pursued. In the event of a tie, the longest length of service in the Public Administration will be considered and, as a last resort, the annual public draw of the State Secretariat for Civil Service.

The call represents an opportunity for social work professionals in the area, who may apply for the temporary filling of positions in the region’s social services. The pool will allow the Comarca de la Sierra de Albarracín to respond agilely to staffing needs in a rural and dispersed territory, guaranteeing the continuity of social care for the citizenry.
