Por FactBox Admin

The Plenary of La Canonja City Council has definitively approved the modification of the ordinance regulating municipal non-tax public charges, specifically in the section setting the rates for services provided at the municipal sports center. The new price list has been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona dated 13 August 2026, with reference CVE 2026-07517 (pp. 1-4), and involves increases of approximately 2% in most fees, passes and uses.

The agreement was initially approved at the ordinary plenary session on 28 May 2026 and was publicly exhibited for 30 days by means of an edict posted on the Corporation’s notice board. The information was published in the BOP of Tarragona (CVE 2026-05398, 17 June), in the Official Journal of the Generalitat de Catalunya number 9686 (15 June), on the municipal edict board and in the Diari de Tarragona (9 June). Since no allegations or claims were submitted, the initial approval became final, and the full text is now published in compliance with articles 178.1 of the consolidated text of the Municipal and Local Government Law of Catalonia (Legislative Decree 2/2003, of 28 April) and 66 of Decree 179/95, of 13 June. The notice is signed by the secretary of the City Council, Daniel Sánchez Miguel.

Discounts and exemptions

The ordinance maintains the social measures for resident users:

  • Free entry to the swimming pool for sports centre season-ticket holders with at least six months’ membership before the summer season.
  • Accompanied children under 4: free entry, with the accompanying adult paying the corresponding fee.
  • Resident retirees and pensioners: the current rate for children under 14 with a 30% discount.
  • Residents with accredited physical disability greater than 33%: exempt from payment.

The agreement, final in administrative proceedings, may be appealed before the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Catalonia within two months of publication. For families in la Canonja, the update entails a monthly increase of between 40 and 80 cents in the most common season tickets, which the town council offsets with the discounts and exemptions aimed at the most vulnerable groups in the municipality.
