Por FactBox Admin

The Electoral Census Office has published the provisional list of the 350 residents of the province of Badajoz who may be called to serve on a jury tribunal during the 2027-2028 biennium. The announcement, signed by the provincial delegate, Luciano Nogales Guillén, appears in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz No. 206 of Tuesday, October 27, 2026, under reference Announcement 3880/2026. The list has a validity period extending until December 31, 2028.
The publication concludes the procedure initiated with the public draw held on September 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in the Courtroom of the First Section of the Provincial Court of Badajoz, at number 2 Colón Avenue in the capital of Badajoz, as announced in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz No. 173 of September 10, 2026 (Announcement 3488/2026). The certification closing the list reminds that the relation was obtained from the Electoral Census list as provided for in Article 13 of Organic Law 5/1995, on the Jury Tribunal, and through the selection process provided for in Royal Decree 1398/1995, of August 4, modified by Royal Decree 1271/2012, of August 31.
What data the list contains
The announcement occupies pages 2 to 11 of the gazette and organizes the candidates in a table with nine fields:
- Province code (06, Badajoz) and municipality code.
- Name of the municipality of residence.
- Census registration number.
- Order number within the provincial list.
- First and second surnames and full name.
- National identity document, with the four central digits visible and the rest hidden.
The list is ordered by municipality and, within each one, by order number, so that the search allows for locating any resident by their town and surnames.
From Acedera to Guadiana: coverage of the entire province
The list goes through the municipalities of the province in order of code, from Acedera, Aceuchal, Ahillones, and Alange to Zahínos, Zalamea de la Serena, La Zarza, and the minor local entities of Valdelacalzada, Pueblonuevo del Guadiana, and Guadiana, which appear with their own codes (901, 902, and 903). In between appear towns of all sizes, such as Alburquerque, Almendralejo, Azuaga, Barcarrota, Castuera, Don Benito, Fregenal de la Sierra, Fuente de Cantos, Jerez de los Caballeros, Llerena, Mérida, Montijo, Olivenza, Orellana la Vieja, Puebla de la Calzada, Villanueva de la Serena, and Zafra.
The largest blocks in the list correspond to the major urban centers, led by the capital Badajoz and Mérida, followed by Don Benito and Almendralejo. At the opposite end, a dozen small municipalities provide a single candidate, as is the case in Acedera, Ahillones, Alange, Alconchel, Almendral, Cordobilla de Lácara, Entrín Bajo, Esparragalejo, Mirandilla, or Villar del Rey.
A provisional list until the end of 2028
The list is published on a provisional basis, meaning that interested parties maintain the option to file a claim before the Electoral Census Office before the final list is approved, in accordance with the procedure regulated by Royal Decree 1398/1995. The validity period set in the header of the announcement extends until December 31, 2028, covering the entire 2027-2028 judicial biennium.
The 350 selected individuals are not part of a specific jury, but rather the provincial census from which candidates are drawn for each jury trial held in the province during that period. The document identifies each person by their municipality and census registration number, allowing for the verification of the chosen individuals’ status as electors.
Impact for residents
The publication affects 350 families in the province, whose members may receive a judicial summons over the next two years and be required to serve on a jury. Furthermore, the list is the only official channel for a resident to check if they have been entered into the draw and to file a claim in the event of an error in their personal data, their municipality of registration, or their status as an elector before the provisional list becomes final.
