The AGENCY awards €250,000 in grants to business incubators in Asturias
The AGENCY —Agency for Science, Business Competitiveness and Innovation of Asturias—, attached to the Ministry of Science, Industry and Employment of the Government of the Principality of Asturias, has published the resolution granting subsidies to public business centres for their business incubator services corresponding to fiscal year 2026. The act was formalized through Resolution of 4 August 2026 and published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) No. 158, of 17 August 2026, with reference code 2026-06674.
The resolution, adopted by the President of the AGENCY —whose office is held by the Minister of Science, Industry and Employment by virtue of Decree 25/2025, of 21 April—, concludes a procedure initiated on 11 March 2026, when the Agency itself approved the call for applications for the granting of these subsidies within the framework of the single business creation service. The regulatory rules are the bases approved by Resolution of 5 November 2014, as amended by Resolution of 6 August 2025 (published in BOPA No. 157, of 14/08/2025).
Credit increase: from €240,000 to €250,000
The credit initially authorized to finance this call for applications amounted to €240,000, a figure approved by the Executive Directorate of the Agency through Resolution of 3 March 2026. After the assessment of applications by the Evaluation Committee, which met on 15 July 2026, it was confirmed that sufficient funding sources existed and it was proposed to increase the allocation by an additional €10,000, in order to grant all applicants who met the conditions the maximum amount of the subsidy.
This additional expenditure was approved by the President of the AGENCY on 21 July 2026, raising the total amount to €250,000. The public information regarding this increase was previously published in the BOPA dated 30 July 2026, as required by regulations.
