Por FactBox Admin

The Balearic School of Public Administration (EBAP) has formalized the appointment of 30 educational technical assistants as permanent contractual staff of the Administration of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, for the islands of Mallorca and Menorca. The decision, adopted by the Minister of Labor, Public Service and Social Dialogue, Catalina Teresa Cabrer González, by delegation of the Minister of Education and Universities, is published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB) no. 108, of August 29, 2026, through Resolution 8444.

Those appointed are the candidates who passed, via the open call, the selection process for access to the category of educational technical assistant (group D, level 5), convened by the Resolution of December 19, 2022 (BOIB no. 165, of December 20). With this resolution, they are assigned a job position and the formalization of the corresponding contracts is ordered.

Background of the selection process

The process was convened in December 2022 for access to various categories of contractual staff of the Autonomous Community. The list of candidates who passed the tests for the open call of the educational technical assistant category was approved through the Resolution of June 18, 2026 (BOIB no. 82, of June 30), in which the job positions were offered.

The competence to resolve the process corresponds to the Minister of Labor, Public Service and Social Dialogue by virtue of the delegation agreed upon by the Minister of Education and Universities (BOIB no. 76, of June 18, 2026), in accordance with the amendment of Law 3/2007, of March 27, on the public service, introduced by Law 4/2026, of June 11.

Appointees by island

The resolution includes the appointments for the open call of the 2022 contractual examinations, with the position obtained in the process. For Mallorca:

  • Magdalena Amengual Gaya (position 1)
  • Maria Magdalena Vidal Borràs (position 2)
  • Maria Inmaculada Aguiló Caldentey (position 3)
  • Lorena Arias González (position 4)
  • Lucia Pou Punter (position 5)
  • Blanca Maria Montojo Alonso (position 6)

For Menorca:

  • Ana Maria Serra Melià (position 2)

Deadlines and obligations

The formalization of the contract for the assigned position must be carried out at the corresponding ministry within a period of three business days counting from the day after the publication of the resolution in the BOIB. Before contracting, the interested person must certify that they do not hold any job position nor carry out any activity in the public sector included in Law 53/1984 on incompatibilities.

If you carry out any private activity, it must be declared within ten business days from taking possession. To acquire the status of personnel in the service of the Administration, an oath or promise must be made to abide by the Constitution, the Statute of Autonomy, and the current legal system, and possession must be taken within the regulatory period.

Vacant positions

The resolution declares as having withdrawn their application due to expiration and excluded from the procedure those persons who did not submit the written choice of offered positions nor the supporting documentation. Likewise, it establishes the positions declared vacant, which correspond to the following locations:

  • One position for the reserve shift for people with disabilities for the island of Mallorca (Inca sector).
  • One position for the free shift for the island of Formentera (Formentera sector).

The resolution, electronically signed on August 17, 2026, exhausts the administrative route. An optional appeal for reversal may be filed before the Minister of Education and Universities within one month, or a lawsuit before the Social Court within two months. With this appointment, the Balearic Administration consolidates the staff of educational technical assistants, a key group for educational care in the centers of the Islands.
