Karina Lorentzen Dehnhardt appointed Danish transport minister by royal resolution

Karina Lorentzen Dehnhardt, a member of Folketinget, has been appointed Denmark’s minister for cities, rural districts and transport, taking over the post from Signe Munk, who was dismissed. The change was decided by royal resolution of 27 October 2026 on the recommendation of Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. It was published in Statstidende on 29 October 2026 under reference S27102026-373.

The notice sits in the gazette’s appointments material under the heading “Diverse · Ministrene” (Miscellaneous · The ministers), and is a single formulaic announcement issued in the sovereign’s name rather than by a ministry. It records two decisions and nothing else: that Signe Munk be dismissed “i nåde” (in grace) from the ministerial post she had held until then, and that Karina Lorentzen Dehnhardt be appointed to that same post. The text gives no reason for the replacement, no effective date beyond the resolution itself, and no indication that any other portfolio changes hands.

The same issue of the gazette carries a companion notice, S27102026-374, headed Regeringen Mette Frederiksen III, which republishes the government in full after the change. That list numbers 21 ministers, opens with Mette Frederiksen as statsminister and closes with Karina Lorentzen Dehnhardt as number 21, immediately after environment minister Maria Reumert Gjerding.

What the resolution establishes

  • Instrument: a royal resolution (“kongelig resolution”) dated 27 October 2026.
  • Initiating authority: the prime minister, whose recommendation (“indstilling”) precedes the resolution.
  • Outgoing holder: Signe Munk, dismissed in grace from the post of by-, land- og transportminister.
  • Incoming holder: Karina Lorentzen Dehnhardt, identified in the text as a member of Folketinget.
  • Publication: Statstidende, 29 October 2026, reference S27102026-373.

The resolution transfers exactly one post. Neither notice records any additional appointment, any change to the number of ministries, or any reshuffle affecting the other twenty members of the government: the list in S27102026-374 keeps the remaining portfolios in the positions they occupied, from Pia Olsen Dyhr as economy and interior minister and Lars Løkke Rasmussen as foreign minister down to Monika Rubin as social minister and minister for Nordic cooperation.

The portfolio carried by both ministers — by-, land- og transportminister — joins urban affairs (“by”), rural districts (“land”) and transport in a single department. Housing is not part of the title: in the government list it is held separately by Jacob Mark as børne-, ældre- og boligminister, alongside children and elderly affairs.

The gazette texts themselves are purely formal. They contain no statement of programme, no list of agencies or subordinate bodies, and no mention of pending legislation, so the scope of the incoming minister’s mandate cannot be read from the announcement beyond the three policy areas named in the title.

Order of precedence in the published list

The government notice published as S27102026-374 is an enumeration rather than a narrative, and the placement of the new minister is explicit. Among its entries:

  • number 1 is statsminister Mette Frederiksen;
  • number 2 is Pia Olsen Dyhr, økonomi- og indenrigsminister;
  • number 5 is Peter Hummelgaard, finansminister;
  • number 9 is Jacob Mark, børne-, ældre- og boligminister;
  • number 20 is Maria Reumert Gjerding, miljøminister;
  • number 21 is Karina Lorentzen Dehnhardt, by-, land- og transportminister.

Because the same date carries both the resolution and the full list, the appointment and its place in the government’s order of precedence were made public together, on the same day, in the same section of the gazette.

Why it matters

The change puts a new minister at the head of the department that handles transport as well as urban and rural-district policy, and it is recorded in the official gazette rather than announced only politically. Operators tracking transport regulation, infrastructure decisions or rural policy should note that decisions issued from now on will carry Karina Lorentzen Dehnhardt as the responsible minister, while Signe Munk no longer appears in the government list.
