Justice appoints thousands of officials for Assistance, Management, and Processing

The Official State Gazette number 207, of August 24, 2026, publishes in its section II.A (Authorities and Personnel) a package of six orders from the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts appointing career civil servants and assigning posts to thousands of candidates who passed the extraordinary selection process for access to the bodies of the Administration of Justice. Orders PJC/881/2026, PJC/882/2026, and PJC/883/2026, all dated July 31, 2026, formalize the appointments, while PJC/884/2026, PJC/885/2026, and PJC/886/2026 allocate the assignments in the judicial offices.

The process stems from the extraordinary call approved by Order JUS/1327/2022, of December 28, through the competition-examination system in the open category. The appointments are issued in accordance with Organic Law 6/1985, of July 1, of the Judiciary, article 27 of Royal Decree 1451/2005, of December 7 (Regulation for Entry, Provision of Work Positions and Professional Promotion of personnel in the service of the Administration of Justice), and clause 9 of the aforementioned call order. The orders bear the signature, by delegation, of the Secretary General for Innovation and Quality of the Public Justice Service, Sofía Puente Santiago.

Three bodies, three appointments

Order PJC/881/2026 (reference BOE-A-2026-18038) appoints career civil servant personnel to the Judicial Assistance Body; PJC/882/2026 (BOE-A-2026-18039) does the same for the Procedural and Administrative Management Body; and PJC/883/2026 (BOE-A-2026-18040) for the Procedural and Administrative Processing Body. In all three cases, Annex I lists the candidates with their order number and territorial scope, sorted by the scores obtained in the examination and competition phases, and Annex II includes those who applied for scopes with their own co-official language, along with the scores of the language and Basque Civil Law tests.

Assignments throughout Spain

Orders PJC/884/2026 (BOE-A-2026-18041), PJC/885/2026 (BOE-A-2026-18042) and PJC/886/2026 (BOE-A-2026-18043) assign destinations, in accordance with articles 28 and 29 of Royal Decree 1451/2005, to the personnel appointed to the Auxilio, Tramitación, and Gestión bodies, respectively. The annexes detail the assignment to common processing and execution services, justice offices in the municipality, civil registries, and prosecutor’s offices in communities such as Andalucía, Cataluña, Madrid, Asturias, Canarias, Galicia, País Vasco, and Comunidad Valenciana, among others.

Assumption of Office and Effects

The assigned individuals must assume office before the head of the judicial office within a period of twenty business days starting from September 1, 2026, in accordance with article 29 of the aforementioned royal decree and article 30 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure. Those who are already permanent members of another body and choose to remain active will not need to travel to assume office; it will be sufficient to communicate their option to the Territorial Management or the competent body of the autonomous communities with received transfers, for the purposes of the voluntary leave provided for in article 506.d) of Organic Law 6/1985.

The publication of these six orders represents one of the greatest public employment milestones in the Administration of Justice in recent years: it consolidates thousands of candidates who passed the extraordinary process in their positions and simultaneously reinforces the staff of the three bodies throughout the territory, with a special impact on judicial offices and in the autonomous communities with transferred competencies.
