Justicia Andalucía extends the deadline for candidacies until October 20
Por FactBox Admin

The Regional Ministry of Tourism, Justice, Deregulation and Local Administration has extended the deadline for submitting nominations for the III Edition of the “Justicia Andalucía” Awards until October 20, 2026, inclusive. This decision is detailed in the Order of September 28, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Government of Andalusia (BOJA) number 191, dated October 1, 2026, and takes effect from the day of its publication. The regulation also adapts the composition of the jury to the new organic structure of the Ministry.
The original call was approved by the Order of the Ministry of Justice, Local Administration and Public Service, of June 17, 2026, whose second resolution set the start of the period as the day following its publication in the BOJA and its conclusion on October 2, 2026. The Ministry justifies the extension on the grounds that this period coincided with the summer season and was close to expiring, with the aim of “encouraging and providing the opportunity for a greater number of nominations to be submitted.”
The order is issued under article 32 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations; article 21 of Law 6/2006, of October 24, on the Government of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia; article 5 of Decree 107/2024, of June 4, which creates and regulates the “Justicia Andalucía” Awards; and article 1 of Decree 191/2026, of July 30.
Awards restructured after the elections
Following the elections to the Parliament of Andalusia last spring, Presidential Decree 9/2026, of July 9, was approved, which creates the Vice-Presidencies and restructures the Ministries of the Government of Andalusia. That decree created, among others, the Ministry of Tourism, Justice, Deregulation and Local Administration, which, according to article 4, holds the regional competencies in matters of Justice that were previously exercised by the now-extinct Ministry of Justice, Local Administration and Public Service, which was abolished in the same decree.
Decree 191/2026, of July 30, established the organic structure of the new Ministry and created its new management centers, necessitating the adaptation of sections 2.d) and 5.d) of the fourth resolution of the Order of June 17, 2026, regarding the jury members representing the Ministry competent in justice matters.
Composition of the jury
The jury is configured as follows:
- Presidency: the holder of the Vice-Ministry of Tourism, Justice, Deregulation and Local Administration.
- Vice-Presidency: the holder of the General Secretariat of Justice.
- Members: the holders of the General Secretariats of Tourism, Deregulation, Local Administration and Technical, and the Directorates General of Judicial Infrastructure and Human Resources and Judicial Care and Victims.
Territorial Representation
Section 5.d) incorporates as members the holders of the territorial delegations of the Ministry in the eight Andalusian provinces:
- Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga and Sevilla.
Furthermore, all references to the Ministry of Justice, Local Administration and Public Service contained in the Order of June 17, 2026, shall be understood as referring to the Ministry of Tourism, Justice, Deregulation and Local Administration.
Effects of the Order
The order takes effect from the day of its publication in the BOJA, October 1, 2026, and was signed in Seville on September 28, 2026, by Manuel Gavira Florentino, Second Vice-President of the Junta de Andalucía and Minister of Tourism, Justice, Deregulation and Local Administration.
The extension provides additional leeway for professionals, associations, and groups within the judicial sphere to submit their candidacies, which until now had to be formalized before October 2. The recognition distinguishes excellence in the work of those who operate in the world of justice and in the defense of constitutional and statutory values, fundamental rights, public liberties, and the most vulnerable individuals and groups.
