Justice dismisses the manager of the Puig de les Basses Penitentiary Center

The Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DOGC) publishes this Monday, September 28, 2026, the dismissal of Jordi Oliveras Bosch as manager of the Puig de les Basses Penitentiary Center, under the Department of Justice and Democratic Quality. The decision is formalized through Resolution JUS/3402/2026, of September 22, signed by the Secretary General of the Department, Maite Casado Cadarso, by delegation of the Minister. Appeals and deadlines

Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, interested parties may file:

• An appeal for reversal (recurso de reposición) before the Minister of Justice and Democratic Quality, within a period of one month, in accordance with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, and article 77 of Law 26/2010, of August 3.
• A contentious-administrative appeal before the contentious-administrative sections of the courts of first instance of Barcelona, or before the court of the jurisdiction of the appellant’s domicile, within a period of two months, according to Law 29/1998, of July 13.
• Any other appeal deemed appropriate for the defense of one’s own interests.

The two deadlines are counted from the day after publication in the DOGC. If one month passes from the filing of the appeal for reversal without notification of a resolution, it may be understood as dismissed, opening the contentious-administrative route.

Impact

The dismissal leaves the management of the Puig de les Basses Penitentiary Center, one of the penitentiary facilities of the Department of Justice and Democratic Quality, vacant, and the bulletin does not announce any substitute. The publication in DOGC no. 9759 makes the decision effective and opens the appeals calendar for those who wish to oppose it.
