Jurats 2027-2028: Girona publica la llista provisional de prop de 2.000 candidats

The General Common Procedural Service of Girona, through the Jury Office, has published the provisional biennial list of jury candidates for the period between January 1, 2027, and December 31, 2028. The edict, signed by the managing secretary Vanessa Morejón Villanueva on September 17, 2026, occupies 56 pages of the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona no. 201, dated October 19, 2026, with the official reference BOP-2026_0_201_8743. The list includes nearly 2,000 people distributed across all municipalities in the Girona district.

The list was obtained from the Electoral Census, in accordance with the provisions of Article 13 of Organic Law 5/1995, of May 22, of the Jury Court, and according to the selection process provided for by Royal Decree 1398/1995, of August 4. The document is explicitly titled “provisional biennial list of jury candidates,” meaning it is a preliminary list and not a definitive appointment.

From the draw of September 17 to the edict of October 19

The procedure began with the announcement of the draw, previously published in the same gazette. The key dates of the process are as follows:

  • September 7, 2026: the Electoral Census Office of the Provincial Delegation of Girona announces the draw for jury candidates for the 2027-2028 period (BOP-2026_0_172_7706, BOP no. 172), in an edict signed by Carlos Mitjavila Garcés.
  • September 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM: the draw is held in the multipurpose room of the Presidency of the Provincial Court of Girona, on the fifth floor of the Palace of Justice (plaça Josep M. Lidón Corbí, 1, Girona).
  • September 17, 2026: date of the provisional list edict, signed by the managing secretary of the General Common Procedural Service of Girona and Jury Office.
  • September 23, 2026: date of the electronic signature of the document by the Provincial Council of Girona.
  • October 19, 2026: publication in BOP no. 201, edict 8743.

Nearly 2,000 names ordered by municipality

The listing is organized in a table with columns for province code, municipality code, province, municipality, order number, first surname, second surname, name, and ID (DNI). All rows correspond to province code 17 (Girona) and the municipalities appear in order of code, from the smallest to the largest. Among the localities that open the list are:

  • Agullana (001), Aiguaviva (002), Albons (004), and el Far d’Empordà (005).
  • Alp (006), Amer (007), Anglès (008), and Arbúcies (009).
  • Lloret de Mar (095), one of the municipalities with the most candidates on the list.
  • Vilobí d’Onyar (233), which closes the series of municipalities with ordinary codes.

The number of candidates per municipality is proportional to the demographic weight of each locality: small towns contribute two or three names, while large ones concentrate dozens of candidates.

Hidden IDs and decentralized local offices

The document applies data protection criteria and incorporates administrative particularities:

  • Each candidate’s ID (DNI) appears partially hidden: only the last four digits are shown.
  • The list includes decentralized offices with their own codes (901 to 903), such as Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l’Heura (901), Forallac (902) and Sant Julià del Llor i Bonmatí (903).
  • The edict indicates the contact details of the issuing office: Oficina del Jurat, plaça Josep M. Lidón, 1, 17001 Girona, telephones 972.942.345 and 972.942.346.

The publication affects thousands of residents of the district, who for two years may be called to be part of a popular jury in trials with a jury court held at the Audiència de Girona. For the people included, the list is the first formal notice that their name has entered the drum from which the jurors for the 2027-2028 biennium will be drawn.
