Jimena initially approves its ordinance on birth grants
Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of Jimena (Jaén) has initially approved the modification of its Municipal Ordinance regulating Grants for the promotion of birth rates, by agreement of the Plenary adopted on September 1, 2026. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén, number 171, of September 3, 2026, page 13279, under reference 2026/4135.
The processing is supported by articles 49 and 70.2 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of Local Regime, and article 56 of the Recast Text of the Local Regime. Consequently, the text is subject to public consultation for a period of thirty days, counted from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the provincial gazette.
Period for objections and consultation
During the exhibition period, any interested party may examine the text of the ordinance and submit any claims and objections they deem appropriate. The documentation will be available at the municipal offices and, additionally, on the City Council’s electronic office:
- Electronic office: http://jimena.sedelectronica.es
- Public information period: thirty days from the day following the publication in the BOP
- Resolving body: Plenary of the City Council of Jimena
Final approval
If no claims are submitted within the aforementioned period, the agreement for the approval of the ordinance shall be understood as definitively approved without the need for a new pronouncement by the Plenary. Otherwise, the objections received must be resolved before the final approval of the text.
The modification of the ordinance is part of the municipality’s local demographic policy, aimed at providing economic support to families and encouraging birth rates within the district of Jimena.
Relevance for residents
The measure directly affects the families of the municipality, who will be able to apply for municipal grants once the ordinance comes into force. The public information period offers residents the opportunity to participate in the final configuration of the regulation by submitting objections before the text is definitively approved.
