The City Council of Jerez de los Caballeros has awarded the patrimonial contract for the timber forestry exploitation of its municipal forests to the company Rocina Verde, SL, for a price of 16,054.16 euros (excluding VAT). The decision, adopted by Mayoral resolution, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 173, dated September 10, 2026, via announcement 3403/2026.

The object of the contract is the disposal of eucalyptus wood from the trees located on the municipal estate “Arroyo Brovales,” which the City Council owns 100%. The technical estimation included in the specifications figures the volume at 760.50 tons of eucalyptus roundwood, upon which the award price, which is estimated in nature, is calculated.

Processing of the file

The procedure has been carried out in accordance with public sector procurement regulations, incorporating the mandatory reports and resolutions. Approval corresponds to the Mayor’s Office according to the second additional provision of Law 9/2017, of November 8, on Public Sector Contracts.

Awardee and selection criterion

The bid from Rocina Verde, SL (CIF B21452008) was selected over those submitted by the other admitted bidders for offering the best price, a criterion identified as the determining characteristic of the award.

Signing of the contract and formalization

The resolution orders the notification of the award to the non-selected bidders and summons Rocina Verde, SL for the signing of the contract, which will take place at the City Council within ten calendar days from the notification. The contractor may request that the contract be elevated to a public deed, with the expenses borne by them, in accordance with Law 33/2003, of November 3, on the Patrimony of Public Administrations and the Civil Code.

The resolution is signed by the Mayor-President, Raúl Gordillo Barroso, and attested by the Acting Secretary, Inés María Barrios Torrado. The agreement is published in the BOP and on the City Council’s electronic headquarters for general knowledge.

The award represents a capital income for the municipality and the enhancement of its public forests, an asset of local economic interest managed through a competitive bidding process. The sale of eucalyptus wood from the “Arroyo Brovales” estate reinforces the City Council’s capacity to generate its own resources from its forest heritage.
