Jaraicejo increases rates for its elderly care residence by 15%

Por FactBox Admin

The Jaraicejo City Council has definitively approved the modification of the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the Fee for stay, assistance, and use of the services of the Residential Center and Day Center, which increases the rates for accredited places by 15% and adds an annual automatic update clause based on the CPI. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 158, dated August 19, 2026, with reference CVE: BOP-2026-3933.

The decision stems from the Plenary Session of the Jaraicejo City Council, which, in an ordinary session held on June 10, 2026, provisionally approved the modification of Article 5 of the ordinance regarding the rates. The file was submitted for public review via an announcement in the BOP of Cáceres number 123, dated July 1, 2026, for a period of thirty days; as no claims were filed, the provisional agreement was automatically elevated to definitive status in accordance with Article 17.3 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries (Legislative Royal Decree 2/2004, of March 5).

New residence rates

The accredited residence places are changed to the following monthly amounts, with an increase of 15%:

  • From €700.00 to €805.00 (increase of €105.00).
  • From €750.00 to €862.50 (increase of €112.50).
  • From €950.00 to €1,092.50 (increase of €142.50).
  • From €1,150.00 to €1,322.50 (increase of €172.50).

New day center rates

The accredited day center places are also updated by the same percentage:

  • From €190.00 to €218.50 (increase of €28.50).
  • From €95.00 to €109.25 (increase of €14.25).
  • From €210.00 to €241.50 (increase of €31.50).
  • From €105.00 to €120.75 (increase of €15.75).

Annual automatic update by CPI

The ordinance incorporates a provision for the annual automatic update of the rates, which will be applied starting from the following fiscal year, using as a reference the annual percentage variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) officially published by the National Statistics Institute corresponding to the immediately preceding year-on-year period. The modification will enter into force once its full text is published in the BOP of Cáceres, and will remain in effect until its express modification or repeal.

Against the final agreement, interested parties may file a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Extremadura within two months of publication, in accordance with Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction. The announcement is signed by the mayor, Mario Trabas González, dated August 17, 2026.

The increase, which directly affects the users and families of the municipality, represents a cost increase of up to 172.50 euros per month for residential places and up to 31.50 euros for day center places, an impact that will be aggravated by the new automatic update linked to the CPI, which will index the rates to price evolution without the need for new plenary proceedings.
