Jaca approves the provisional list for two Local Police Officer positions

The Jaca City Council has approved the provisional list of admitted and excluded applicants, has appointed the Qualifying Board, and has summoned the candidates to the selection process for the filling of two Local Police Officer positions. The decision was adopted via Mayoral Resolution no. 2847, dated September 3, 2026, signed by Mayor Carlos Serrano Pérez, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca number 171, dated September 8, 2026 (reference BOPH-2026-171015).
The original call for applications was approved by Mayoral Resolution no. 2026-215, dated January 21, 2026, published in the BOP of Huesca no. 22 (February 4, 2026), in the Official Gazette of Aragon no. 34 (February 19, 2026), and with an extract in the BOE no. 64 (March 13, 2026). Subsequently, Resolution no. 1536, dated May 8, increased the number of positions from one to two, adding one vacancy from the 2025 employment offer and another from the 2026 offer, following the modification of the Public Employment Offer approved by Resolution no. 1336, dated April 22, 2026.
Provisional list of admitted and excluded applicants
The process, conducted via a competitive examination system (concurso-oposición) under the internal promotion track, results in the following provisional list of applicants:
- Admitted: Diego Coscojuela Berga, David Fuentes Gil, Esperanza Gaona Casabona, José Enrique Gutiérrez Gimeno, Agustín Jesús del Expósito, and Cristian Martín Ortiz.
- Excluded: Rubén Matas Muñoz, for failing to meet the requirement of the second base a).
A period of ten calendar days from the date of publication is granted to file claims against the list and request the correction of material errors. Once this period has elapsed without allegations, the list will automatically become final, without the need for a new resolution or publication.
Composition of the qualifying board
The board that will judge the process is composed of officials from the Jaca City Council, along with their respective alternates:
- President: César F. Ara Miranda, Chief Inspector of the Local Police (alternate: Alberto Fatas Díes, Local Police Officer).
- Member: Juan José Palacín Iruela, Officer assistant to the Chief of the Local Police (alternate: Carlos Acín Gil).
- Member: José Carlos Castillejo Malo (alternate: Fernando Sánchez Bernad).
- Member: Antonio Joaquín Caballé Allué (alternate: Borja Francés Gurrea).
- Secretaries: Laura Sarasa Aquilué, Assistant to the Comptroller (alternate: Miriam C. Lapeña Abadía, Treasurer).
Board members may be challenged within ten calendar days from the publication of the resolution in the BOP of Huesca.
Summons for the first exercise
The resolution summons the applicants and the members of the tribunal for the first exercise of the competitive examination on October 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Palacio de Congresos de Jaca, located at avenida Juan XXIII, 17-19. The call is disseminated through publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca and on the notice board of the Jaca City Council.
The filling of these two Local Police Officer positions reinforces the security staff of the capital of Jaca and represents a significant opportunity for basic scale civil servants in the region aspiring to internal promotion, in a process of high interest for local security and for candidates from Upper Aragon.
