Por FactBox Admin

The Jaén City Council has approved and issued for collection the tax roll for the Fees for the Provision of Services Linked to the Integrated Water Cycle, corresponding to the third quarter of 2026 for billing zone 2 and the monthly billing for August 2026 for large consumers. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén, number 165, dated August 26, 2026, via edict 2026/4015.

The decision, adopted by Decree of the same date, concludes the administrative process and affects all taxpayers in zone 2, who will have a voluntary payment period until November 3, 2026, both dates inclusive.

Issuing Body and Regulatory Framework

The edict is signed by the Deputy Mayor Delegated for the Areas of Economy, Finance, Procurement, Technical Services, Municipal Projects, Urban Maintenance and Municipal Infrastructure, Cemeteries, Health, Trade, Markets, Consumption, and Animal Protection and Welfare, Francisco Javier Lechuga Arias, exercising the powers delegated by the Mayor’s Decree dated 01/03/2025.

The tax roll will be available for public inspection at the Municipal Tax Management Service for one month, starting from the day following the publication of the edict, for the purposes of notification provided for in article 102.3 of the General Tax Law.

Deadlines and Appeals

  • Voluntary payment period: from the day following the publication of the edict until November 3, 2026, both dates inclusive.
  • Payment: through the collaborating financial institutions indicated on the receipt itself, during banking hours.
  • Appeal for Reversal (Recurso de Reposición): one month, starting from the day following the end of the public inspection period, prior to any contentious-administrative proceedings, in accordance with article 14.2 of Legislative RD 2/2004, of July 5, which approves the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries.

Where to obtain the receipt

Those who have not received the receipt may collect it at the offices of the concessionaire company FCC Aqualia SA, located at C/ Don Rafael Ortega Sagrista nº 15, every business day except Saturdays, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Once the payment deadline has expired, debts will be demanded through the enforcement procedure and will accrue an enforcement surcharge, late payment interest and, where applicable, any costs incurred, as provided for in article 24 of the General Collection Regulations.

Relevance for taxpayers

The collection of this register constitutes a direct obligation for all users of zone 2 of the capital’s water service, who must make payment before November 3 to avoid surcharges. The announcement, signed in Jaén on August 24, 2026, also reminds that the register can be consulted at the Municipal Tax Management Service during the month of public exhibition.
