Late payment interest for 29 expropriated properties in Mantiel and Pareja

The Tagus Hydrographic Confederation has authorized the payment of compensation in the form of late-payment interest to the holders of assets and rights of 29 estates in Mantiel and Pareja affected by the water supply works for the future Association of municipalities adjacent to the Entrepeñas and Buendía reservoirs. The Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge signed the proposal for authorization, commitment, recognition of obligation, and payment on September 30, 2026, and the announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara No. 193, dated October 9, 2026.

The announcement is made public for the purposes provided for in Article 49 of the Compulsory Expropriation Regulations, which develops the Compulsory Expropriation Law of December 16, 1954. The file is processed under the urgency procedure and corresponds to the works of “Modified No. 1 of the supply project for the future Association of municipalities adjacent to the Entrepeñas and Buendía reservoirs (Guadalajara and Cuenca)”, with key 03.399.001/2121.

The action is part of the compulsory expropriation file under the urgency procedure motivated by the water supply works for the future association of municipalities adjacent to the Entrepeñas and Buendía reservoirs, which affects municipalities in the provinces of Guadalajara and Cuenca. The payment corresponds to late-payment interest, that is, compensation for the delay in the payment of the indemnities already recognized for the expropriated owners.

Affected estates in Mantiel and Pareja

The published list includes 29 estates divided between the two municipal districts:

• Mantiel: 14 estates, with references EX13/01-01/16137 to EX13/01-01/16152.
• Pareja: 15 estates, with references EX13/01-01/17019 to EX13/01-01/17078.

Each estate is identified in the announcement by its municipal district, its file reference, the polygon, and the plot number or cadastral reference.

How the compensations will be paid

Payment will be made via bank transfer to the account designated by the interested parties. Those amounts whose payment cannot be made effective by bank transfer will be deposited in the General Deposit Fund at the disposal of the interested parties; once the circumstance that motivated the deposit has been rectified, the Tagus Hydrographic Confederation will carry out the appropriate procedures to make the payment effective.

The announcement was signed in Madrid, on October 6, 2026, by the Secretary General, Álvaro Agustín de Torres Suárez.

The publication allows the expropriated owners of the region to know that the administration has already recognized the obligation and ordered the payment of late interest, a step that closes the accumulated delay in the processing of compensations for water supply works that directly affect properties in Mantiel and Pareja.
