Deadline and procedure for submitting applications
Applications may be submitted during twenty business days counted from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the Official State Bulletin, after its full publication in the Official Bulletin of the Canary Islands and in the BOP of Las Palmas. The processing will preferably be online:

Requirements and phases of the selection process
To be admitted, applicants must have Spanish nationality, be of legal age, hold a Bachelor’s degree, second-level Vocational Training or equivalent, hold A2 and B driving licences, have no criminal record and meet the necessary physical conditions. The process consists of three phases: opposition, selective training course and probationary period.
The opposition phase comprises, in this order:
- Physical tests: horizontal jump, push-ups, Cooper test and 50 metres freestyle, with minimum marks differentiated by sex.
- Psychotechnical aptitude and personality tests, of an eliminatory nature.
- Knowledge tests: a 50-question multiple-choice questionnaire and resolution of practical scenarios, plus an optional language test (English, French or German, level B1).
- Medical examination, mandatory and eliminatory.
From probationary police officer to career civil servant
Those who pass the competitive examination will take office as “Probationary Police Officers” and must complete the selective course taught by the competent governing body for the training of local police forces of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, followed by a period of practical training of 850 hours in the municipality. Once both phases have been passed, the Selection Board will submit to the Mayor’s Office the proposal for appointment as a career civil servant, which will be published in the BOP of Las Palmas, in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands and on the municipal website, and the appointee must take office within one month.
The call, open to applicants from the entire province, consolidates the municipality’s commitment to strengthening Ingenio’s citizen security service with career civil servant staff, one of the most active population centres in the southeast of Gran Canaria, and gives continuity to the planning of its public employment offer.
