Public information for hybridizing the Velilla Rotonda 2 solar plant in Mantinos
Por FactBox Admin

The hybridization project of the “FV-Velilla Rotonda 2” photovoltaic plant with a battery storage system of 5.04 MW power and 10.08 MWh capacity in the municipality of Mantinos (Palencia) is subject to public consultation. The announcement is signed by the Territorial Service of Industry, Trade and Economy of Palencia, attached to the Ministry of Environment and Energy of the Regional Government of Castilla y León, and is published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León (BOCYL) no. 181, dated September 17, 2026, with the reference BOCYL-D-17092026-181-27. Any person may examine the project and submit allegations within a period of twenty business days.
The procedure is carried out under Law 24/2013, of December 26, on the Electricity Sector; Royal Decree 1955/2000, of December 1, which regulates the authorization procedures for electrical energy installations, and Decree 46/2022, of November 24, which governs the administrative authorizations of electrical installations in Castilla y León. The application includes the prior administrative authorization and the administrative construction authorization of the construction project, processed under file FV-955.
The declared objective is the hybridization of the “FV-Velilla Rotonda 2” photovoltaic power generation plant through a battery energy storage system, so that the installation evacuates its energy to the grid through the same connection point. The announcement appears in section I (Community of Castilla y León), heading E.2 of other official announcements, on pages 152 and 153 of the gazette.

A second twin project in the same municipality
A parallel announcement is published in the same bulletin, with reference BOCYL-D-17092026-181-28, regarding the hybridization of the “FV-Velilla Rotonda 3” plant in Mantinos, with identical figures of 5.04 MW and 10.08 MWh and file FV-956. Its petitioner is Renta Cero 2SPV S.L.U., with CIF B02613677 and the same address in Albacete. Both procedures share the same deadline, instructing body, and consultation conditions.
The publication confirms the progress of battery hybridization in the renewable park of Castilla y León, a formula that strengthens the management of energy already generated by existing photovoltaic plants without occupying new land or modifying the connection point. For the residents of Mantinos and its surroundings, the procedure opens a regulated period of public consultation regarding two storage facilities totaling 10.08 MW of power and 20.16 MWh of capacity in the municipality.
