Información pública para dous parques eólicos Nesa Monte Arca en Pontevedra

The Territorial Department of Pontevedra of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change submits for public information the requests for prior administrative and construction authorization and the joint environmental impact study for the Nesa Monte Arca Norte and Nesa Monte Arca Sur wind farms, 20 MW each. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) number 186, dated September 30, 2026, with the reference CVE-DOG: cximj3n6-lyk8-wtj6-3515-icmgrtc3gte1. The installations affect the municipalities of A Estrada, Cuntis, and O Campo Lameiro, in the province of Pontevedra.

The agreement, signed on September 22, 2026, by the territorial director of Pontevedra, Nicolás Lorenzo Montes, is processed in compliance with Law 24/2013, of December 26, of the electricity sector; Law 8/2009, of December 22, on wind energy utilization in Galicia; Law 9/2021, of February 25, on administrative simplification; Royal Decree 1955/2000, of December 1, and Law 21/2013, of December 9, on environmental assessment. The competent body to authorize the projects is the General Directorate of Renewable Energies and Climate Change, and the installations are subject to an ordinary environmental impact assessment.

The processing affects two different files, promoted by companies of the same group with registered offices at Méndez Álvaro Street, 44, 28045 Madrid:

  • Nesa Monte Arca Norte wind farm, file IN408A 2019/103-NT, requested by Nesa Vento Galego 2, S.L., in the municipalities of A Estrada and Cuntis.
  • Nesa Monte Arca Sur wind farm and its evacuation infrastructures, file IN408A 2019/104-NT, requested by Nesa Vento Galego 3, S.L., in the municipalities of A Estrada, Cuntis, and O Campo Lameiro.

Two 20 MW parks with three wind turbines each

Each of the parks plans the installation of three wind turbines with a unit nominal power of 6.66 MW, model N 175 from the manufacturer Nordex, with a rotor diameter of 175 meters and a hub height of 118.6 meters. The estimated annual net production is 72,738 MWh/year in the North park and 71,120 MWh/year in the South park.

The material execution budgets and deadlines collected in the agreement are as follows:

  • Nesa Monte Arca Norte park: 19,312,055.06 euros and twelve months of execution.
  • Nesa Monte Arca Sur park: 19,429,726.86 euros and twelve months of execution.
  • High voltage overhead line (LAAT): 1,046,751.99 euros and ten months.
  • Monte Redondo 132/30 kV substation (SET): 3,061,633.47 euros and ten months.

Each park includes three 0.69/20 kV voltage transformation centers inside the wind turbines, a 30 kV underground medium voltage network, and a self-supporting permanent measurement tower 118.60 meters high, in addition to the civil works for roads, foundations, assembly platforms, and cable ducts.

Shared evacuation infrastructures

The SET Monte Redondo 132/30 kV substation, located in A Estrada, will increase the voltage of the two wind farms through a 40 MVA power transformer and a 132/30 kV line-transformer position. The evacuation line is a 132 kV overhead line (LAAT) between the SET Monte Redondo and the SET Touriñán III-2, which is the subject of another file.

The line has a total length of 7.88 km, 27 metal lattice supports with LA-180 conductor and OPGW type guard cable, and runs through the municipalities of A Estrada (5,951 meters) and O Campo Lameiro (1,934 meters).

Allegations and public consultation

Interested parties may examine the technical and environmental documentation and submit allegations or observations within a period of thirty (30) days, counting from the day following the publication of the agreement in the DOG, in accordance with article 33.10 of Law 8/2009.

The documentation is available at the offices of the Territorial Department of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Pontevedra (avenida Mª Victoria Moreno, 43-4º, 36071 Pontevedra), Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, as well as in the town halls of A Estrada, Cuntis, and O Campo Lameiro and on the ministry’s web portal. Among the exhibited documents are the technical-administrative projects of the two wind farms, signed on 8/25/2026, that of the SET Monte Redondo, from 7/28/2026, that of the LAAT, from 8/5/2026, and the joint environmental impact study, signed on 9/8/2026.

The publication opens the possibility for neighbors, owners of affected land, and environmental groups to influence an infrastructure that adds 40 MW of wind power and an evacuation line of nearly eight kilometers across three municipalities in Pontevedra.
