The Port Authority of Alicante has submitted for public consultation the request for the review and substantial modification of the concession held by FORTY & MONTORO, S.L. for the construction and operation of a hospitality building in the Inner Dock of the port. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante number 170, dated September 8, 2026, and opens a period of twenty business days for the submission of allegations.

The processing is framed within articles 85, 88, and 89 of the Recast Text of the State Ports and Merchant Marine Law, which regulate the public information procedure for administrative port concessions. The purpose of the modification is the expansion of the surface area of the outdoor terrace annexed to the building intended for hospitality uses located in the Plaza del Puerto.

Purpose of the Concession

The original concession covers the construction of a building on the island platform located at the mouth of the Inner Dock of the Port of Alicante, as well as the operation of said building and the one located in the Plaza del Puerto for the provision of hospitality services. The requested substantial modification directly affects the use of the port space and the terrace area of the establishment.

Deadline and Form of Allegations

During the public information period, the request and the basic project will be available for examination:

  • Deadline: twenty (20) business days, counted from the day following the publication of the edict.
  • Hours: from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
  • Location: offices of the Port Authority of Alicante, at Avda. Perfecto Palacio de la Fuente, nº 3.
  • Electronic consultation: available on the Port Authority’s website, Electronic Office, Notice Board section, in compliance with Law 19/2013, of December 9, on Transparency, Access to Public Information and Good Governance.
  • Submission of allegations: through the Electronic Office of the Port Authority of Alicante (https://sede.puertoalicante.gob.es/).

Signature and Scope

The edict, dated in Alicante on August 28, 2026, is signed by the president of the Port Authority, Luis Rodríguez González. The resolution affects the organization of the public port domain and the hospitality activity in an area of high tourist and citizen influx on the Alicante waterfront.

The modification of the concession will condition the future use and available surface area of the establishment’s terrace, a space of special interest for the hospitality sector and the city’s promenade. The participation of citizens and interested operators during the allegations period will be decisive for the final resolution of the file by the Port Authority.
